How do I get in the mood to research for an article?

   How do I get in the mood to research for an article?
   
   I always have ideas for articles.. that's not the problem
   
   But how do I get myself in the mood to actually do the researching for it? It's always been hard for me to get something started, but once i'm into it, I love it.
   
   In need of some motivational tips here.

   I start writing the body of the article because it is easier for me. When I start with the main topic, I keep on going until I have completed it. Afterwards, I do the introduction and the conclusion. This way, I am able to write more articles and finish them faster.

   When I'm ready to crank out some articles I put on some energetic music and grab a pen and pad. Then I write down my main subject in the middle of the page and draw a circle around it. Then as the music plays I start creating a mindmap and usually by the end of the first or second song I have a direction of where I want to start my research.
   
   That gives me a drawn out direction of what areas I want to cover and how I'll attack the research for the article.

   Just write. Just start researching. If you convince yourself that you're not in the mood to write nothing will ever get done. There is nothing stopping you but yourself. You said it yourself, once you start going it's not a problem. So just start going.
   
   A trick I read once is to set a timer for an hour. Then sit down at your computer or with a piece of paper. You don't have to write, but you can't do anything else until that timer rings. This trick is mostly for fiction writers complaining of writer's block but it will work for anybody trying to write anything.
