   Do hubbers who attract 1000 plus readers do this from hub pages alone or other webtivity?
   
   I am happy with my slowly but surely increasing following here on the hub.  I hope to attract more and look forward to following more hubbers.  I am amazed when I see hubbers who have thousands of followers with only a few hubs more than I have written

      Not just important, but CRUCIAL.  People act like this is some sort of social networking site.  This is not a social network or blogging site.  This site, Hubpages.com, is a commercial site that lets people go overly far with being social.

      Well, having more followers leads to more Google traffic right? And worst case scenario, having followers won't do anything. I can't imagine it hurting your traffic. It seems worth it to have followers who can ripple-effect your work out there.

   My first follower is still an amazement to me!  As I have written over time, more followers have joined the first one and I'm grateful to each one of them for I know it means something, just not quite sure what.   
   The one thing I do know is the writing is what I enjoy and writing more keeps things going.
   It will be interesting to see the comments that come in on this question.

   I doubt it. They must be doing SEO and social media promotion of their hubs to increase page views and traffic.

   I get most of my views from Google and social networks but I get most of my comments and votes from hubbers. You have to market to get views Hubpages alone isn't enough.

   If you've been on the site for a long time and you write Hubs that are of interest to other site users, you tend to accumulate a lot of followers. 
   
   No social networkings or SEO is required.  You just have to write stuff that other users of this site want to read, whatever that may be.

      Maybe so but most of us do not want to wait 5 years to make money, networking has worked extremely well for me in a very short time.

   "Followers" are always other Hubbers.  They're not necessarily readers, though - many Hubbers follow because they think it will get them more attention, not because of genuine interest.
   
   I'm sure many of my followers have never bothered to read any of my Hubs! 
   
   You do not make money from followers - you make money by attracting readers from outside HubPages. So don't stress too much about followers

   I think you need followers who are interested in reading your hubs and sharing them not just on Hubpages but on Twitter,Facebook and whatever other sites they are on.I only follow people who write hubs I am interested in. It also helps to write good informative hubs that will be picked up during a Google search to bring traffic in from outside Hubpages.

   I was surprised at how much my hubs are read. I share with facebook and twitter, but  most of my readers come from HubPages.
   
   You can see where your readers come from in your account. It is always helpful to have other "webtivity," I was surprised how many of my friends on Facebook read my stuff.

    It totally depends on the content of the hub. If the content of the hub is intresting it might attract the 1000 plus reader from the hubpages only and if content is not so good then other web sources can be used for reaching that 1000 plus mark

    It depends on the content of the hub really. I get most of my views from off of hubpages but I do share my hubs on facebook and pinterest and that brings in a few more views.
