   What type of evidence do you need to believe you have developed a well informed belief system?
   
   What type of evidence do you look for? Do you need scientific evidence? Historical? Is no evidence enough to form a belief system?

   I think the evidence that one has a well informed belief system can be seen by examining the quality of his life.

   This is a hard question, and people are different, so it solely depends on the person. From what I have noticed and experienced, Aethiests tend to look for scientifical evidence. If it isn't there they will not be a believer. Historical is good, but those that are aethiest believe the bible is ficticious.
   
   The more religious groups, follow "history" believing that the Bible, or other religious material (Quran, Scrolls exc...) is accurate. But most of these people have one thing others do not. Faith.
   
   Keep in mind that many religions do believe certain events did take place. For example that Jesus did exsist. But, only christians believe that he was the son of god. The other religions believe he was just a messanger or a mighty prophet.
   
   Some people base their beliefs only on faith as well as believing the religious materials are correct. The problem is most people do not have faith. Most, are "born" into a religion and believe what they do because their parents do.
   
   As I said it is upon the individual. I have looked at many religions after being raised Catholic and have even been an aethiest because of no scientifical evidence. Since then, I have found my faith and claim to be christian.

      What did it take to satisfy your need for evidence? Or was faith enough? I would differ on your statement about religious groups having faith where the atheists do not. I believe it takes just as much faith, if not more.

   One has to study and listen to those who have, and that with humility and an open mind.  There is a principle (whose author I cannot call to memory) that promises a result that will forever leave mankind in perpetuated ignorance, and that principle is CONDEMNATION BEFORE INVESTIGATION.
   
   Solomon wrote in Proverbs, "He that answereth a matter before he has heard it, to him it is folly."
   
   I will leave several short video links that will perhaps, reveal why some people believe what they believe without just jumping on a bandwagon, or answering a matter before they have heard what is being said. 
   
   Understand that this speaker served the United States Missile Defense department as an informations system specialist, and has the highest level of security next to Generals.  Dr. Chuck Missler - GENIUS.
   
   Keep an open mind to his wealth of knowledge -- he is an intellectual with an informed perspective on these matters.  So this is not to persuade, although it will make many question what they think they believe, and certain bear witness on what they think they know.
   
   Take this seriously:  there are some people who study so deeply that they are able to demonstrate where what is often scoffed at, is immediately celebrated by those who have previously been skeptical.  An informed opinion, requires that we allow some medium, whether shaman or book, to open the eyes of our minds to see reason to believe.  Here are the video links, and I hope that you enjoy them.

   When one finds inner peace, can accept his position in life and accept that others are going to tell him he is wrong in his beliefs and still remain grounded, then yu and developed a well informed belief system.

   A belief could turn into a delusion if it is a belief of one without any evidence.  There should be some evidence and logic involved that would support your belief. Scientific evidence is helpful,as well as experience of the believer and others, this gives the belief more credibility.
   
   What makes the belief system well developed is if you are able to convince another person, then you have a well developed belief system, right or wrong I am not saying. Remember at one point peole thought the world was flat, and it took a while to change that way of thinking.
