   Is it ok to rob someone if others are depending on you for food and there are no other options?
   
   Three kids are homeless. Two of them are 16 years old and the other is 23. They are all hungry and come up with a plan to rob the pizza delivery boy. The younger two have never done this and are asking the older one to show them how. My question is, is it wrong for the older one to teach them how to rob someone or is it ok because he is helping to feed two starving kids?

   yes, it is definitely wrong because the one you will rob can be poor too and is trying to survive with his little income. Would you like it if somone does that to you. What, if you get caught and get beaten up or go to jail for robbing. Those boys should find thereself some jobs.

   Is this from a college or high school ethics class? If not, it could be used for one.
   
   In my city, people can receive free meals three times a day seven days a week, if they need them, under our current Mayor. Not all cities have such services, but stealing pizza from a driver that may be training in self defense is not wise. Pizza delivery can be pretty competitive, drivers slashing one another's tires (frequently here), etc. They get robbed and take precautions, Some drivers learn self defense, some carry tasers, some carry ball bats.
   
   This country has 4.8 Million jobs open right now today on July 12, 2012 - not enough for all, but a 23-year-old should put out some effort toward applying. If he needs help, the county jobs office under WIA offers dedicated job search and placement for people up to 24 years old. They will help with Food Stamp applications and food bank connections (I know some are out of food).
   
   The 16 year old should be doing errands, mowing lawns, getting into a Summer Jobs Program, using the Free Lunch Summer Program for youth in every county in the US, asking for help at churches, etc. Collecting cans will feed that one  - One college student here worked through a whole year of college just collecting cans for redemption.
   
   The 16- and 23-year-olds are adults when it comes to federal work guidelines. They can get help.

   of course it is. the oldest one could steal some food from a store, dumpster dive or beg on the streets.

   Four homeless, starving 19 year old girls watch as the three boys rob the pizza delivery boy of 28$ and six pizzas. The pizza delivery boy runs off. Without thinking the girls ambush the three boys, take the money and the pizzas and race away laughing. Later the same girls contact the local police and give them the identities of the three boys who are arrested, go through the courts and are punished. The four girls are now planning their next ambush.
   
   In today's world where there are so many opportunities to earn and eat and pick up 'loose food' here, there and everywhere, especially in a city, I'd say the older boy would be foolish to get into robbing folk. He'd risk imprisonment- then the younger ones would be nowhere if they're dependent on him. Morally he would be wrong to teach the younger ones; better to educate them in the arts of working for a living.

   No. Because there is still an option. Have they tried a food drive? Churches give food to the homeless in most cities on Saturdays. There are always three options in every situation.

   unfortunately fresh2def, this is wrong. The bible says thy shall not steal. Robbing someone is wrong, no matter the circumstances. The Bible also says....we have not because we ask not. God is able to touch the heart of any man. All we need to do is ask. It's plain and simple.

   No. Despite their desperation, this still doesn't give them the right to rob someone who's making an honest living.
   
   They should see about going to a shelter where they will receive a meal. Even in times of desperation, you still should live your life with honesty.
