Do you think that targets of political ads realize to the degree of which they are being pandered?

For example, Mitt Romney ads are calling Obama a liar and trying to stir up former Hillary supporters to rise against him.  Obama is stirring up the 99%ers and how they feel about corporate big wigs fleecing America for their own profit...  Are the campaigns just preaching the the choir or could they actually pick up votes with these techniques?

Absolutely not, by nature people will believe anything they are told.  People are stupid enough to believe TV ads and what they read on the internet as much as they believe their bibles.  Ignorance and the uninformed minds run rampant is this world.   After all - T.V., the internet, and the bibles are not supposed to tell any lies.  So, why would anyone not believe the lying politicians?

No.  Years of regular commercial ads have conditioned the population to be pandered to and in fact has desensitized them.  Political ads are far more insidious and calculated.  They can make claims that can go completely unchallenged whereas commercial ads are subject to some degree of scrutiny and companies can get zapped big time for false advertising.  Good luck with that if you try to go after all the lies that political entities put out there.

Campaign ads are just pay offs to the media so that they will play along with the game.  Is anyone going to remember these ads in November?  Then why else are they doing it?  They are not buying votes, they are buying the media.

The simple answer is no. I don't think the average American is aware of how much they are being manipulated by the powers that be.

On the other hand focusing on Hillary Clinton supporters by Mitt Romney shows me that the Republicans fear that they are in a losing cause. That tells me that Americans are not as gullible as the powers that be wish they were.

Maybe next time around, the focus will be on all the nation's needs as a whole as opposed to the heavily moneyed special interests. Maybe just a little more accountability. One can only hope.
