Who is supposed to pick the best answer to a question we post?
On my Q&A page the questions are listed and 'choose' is at the end of the question. So I thought I was supposed to select the answer. Now I just read a question that asks 'what do you think of someone who chooses the best answer to their querstion?' Call me confused. Someone please clarify and thanks.
After my Q has been out there a while and I've had some interaction about it, I am the one who chooses the best answer to my question. I've assumed this is the way it is to be done. Will be interesting to see some other responses you get and see if my assumption is correct. LOL!
Only the person who asked a question can select a best answer. We do this inside our own account, under Q&A, My Question Statistics. In the Best column, pick Choose. Scroll down to the answer you think is best, and choose "Select as Best Answer." This cannot be undone.
I think perhaps you misunderstood the question that confused you. I believe the person who wrote it was assuming that the chooser was the person who asked the question in saying "chooses the best answer to their question." That is, the person asked the question, it is theirs. Some people who ask a question also choose a best answer to their own question. I hope this helps.
I don't see an option for "select this as best answer" to this question, but I do on the questions I ask. I always assumed that the person who asks the question is the only one who can select a best answer.
Glad you asked this question as I have been thinking about this.
Thanks for asking that since I've asked questions, I don't think I've ever chosen a "best answer", actually, yes I have. But I don't know if there is a reward for the best answer, so I don't see the point but if just in case there is, Choose me! Choose me! JK LOL

I apologize, but it seems a "Best" answer was chosen on my question when I did not choose it. I hope the HP Team can help me or someone can inform me why that happened! I noticed it via my phone and I knew that I did not choose an answer and I was not going to do so any time...

Should HP auto select Best Answer to Questions you ask? When Best Answer has not been awarded by the author of the question, in a reasonable time frame ( say 3 weeks ), do you think HP should auto select it?

I think the people who answer should be able to earn something one way to do it could be might be a little complicated or easy I’m not very technical but the conceptFor example the person who asks something should be able to choose best answer and the person with the best answer get 10% of rev...
