Why do people create Hubs then delete responses. Why even put up a Hub if you are that one-sided?
Thats silly indeed. Some people just think they're always right about things I guess, but in reality you're wrong because you think you're always right.
if I did this in the past, it usually was an accident. I allow all folks to reply, whether in a negative manner or a positive one. I will never purposely offend any reader of my hubs and believe that if we contribute and in a positive way, then that is all that matters. I remember the other day I accidentally hit the wrong key and deleted a very positive comment about my work, much to my regret. Sometimes fatigue may cause this to happen.
I have to say that if I got a really offensive, race baiting or just down right nasty stuff in a comment I reckon I might give the commenter a chance to retract it. I also think that if, something is grossly in error, like saying Dewey was our president I suggest to the writer to fix it, to save them embarrassment.
I but I am so new I have never had to even consider the problem.
I didn't think anyone would do that. If this has happened to you, perhaps the response was viewed as insignificant. If it was too conflicting with the article perhaps the writer was offended. I would delete a response if the writer used obsene language or the type that was offensive.
It may not be about being one-sided. The hub author may delete responses if they think it adds nothing to the conversation or that it is a silly rant or just an insult or has nothing to do with the topic. It's their hub they can do what they want with it.
I actually had someone delete a positive response I posted on their hub . . haha. Not sure why people would delete comments. I imagine I would only do it if there was excessive or inappropriate profanity. Otherwise, I welcome different viewpoints . . that's how we learn and expand our minds!
One of my hubs got such a huge response that I eventually put a stop on responses, both positive and negative. Most of the writers were just agressive and clearly had not read the article at all and just wanted to be nasty. I could have gone on letting the positive through which would have been good for me but to be fair I stopped all....and put a note at the bottom of the hub explaining why. I still get responses and read all but let none through.

Some people say you should never, ever delete a hub...only edit it and such. What makes you just completely trash your own hubs?

Why would anyone delete a comment on their hub?If I deleted a comment on one of my hubs, I would figure I am not good at dealing with people who might disagree with me. People can agree or disagree, it's a free world. If the comment was mean or nasty, well I'm not the one looking bad,...

Why do liberals delete sincere Hub responses?Have you noticed that when your responses are deleted on a Hub, the Hub writer is almost always a liberal? Have you noticed that when your responses are deleted on a Hub, the Hub writer is almost always a liberal? I'm not talking about abusive comments,...

It is advantageous to delete one's own low scoring hubs that have little traffic. I figure getting rid of the low score would increase the average of the rest of one's hubs. What do you think?
