   What style of creative or personal hubs do you prefer?
   
   When you read hubs written about a person's life or observations, do you like the hub to be humorous, heart-wrenching, dramatic, sassy, or straight-forward "journal-style"?

   Hubpages discourages Hubs that are overly personal and this isn't the place for blogging.  I prefer short, concise informative hubs.  But I also really love to read poetry.

   with life being as it is in todays society..I enjoy reading something either light-hearted or informative having to do with keeping positive or beneficial in regards to dealing with parenting,education,dealing with situations in general having to do with everday life...always enjoy humor..actually that is the genre with which I choose to write especially of living with the " quirks"beveryday...isn't that what makes the world go round ?

   One of the attractions here at HubPages is the wide paintbrush used to cover a canvas of varying topics and styles of writing. I am not a lover of poetry or science fiction so I tend to not spend much time reading or commenting in those areas. Also, if someone has put together an article that is only one paragraph and it runs on and on I will avoid reading it. I do enjoy humorous, personal, philosophical, political, gardening, tutorials and Hubs filled with drama. I do not read or comment on articles reviewing products, songs, books or movies. Hot topic issues I find interesting, as well as those stories surrounding nature, natural resources, interesting places to visit and wild life.

   When I first came to HubPages, I did hubs on popular culture.  However, as I continued to read the hubbers I admired may have had a specialty but they also focused on other interesting topics. To me writing is personal in that you share a part of yourself but on the other hand, people come online mainly to learn and be entertained. So what has worked for me is writing a combination of personal anecdotes mixed with information and insight based on what I have read and learned.

   It is difficult to say something as sometime some personal writings have qualities to read as general topics.but in hub people tend to search their informations not personal one.

   Any topic can be interesting if it's presented the right way.  I like hubs that showcase the author's unique personality or voice.  Short stories and poetry also interest me.  Some hubs read like a research paper or a text book; I don't usually read those.  I also am not a fan of hubs reviewing a product for the sole purpose of selling it on Amazon and E-Bay.  I don't like it when someone writes about a topic they don't care about just because it's popular and they want to get hub traffic.  When the author is passionate about the topic, whatever it is, the hub will usually turn out great.

   What fascinates me in reading is the interest level in the story. For example, being a guy, I am unlikely to read a hub about crocheting. On the other hand, I like poetry, short stories, and generally speaking, most anything I don't know much about might catch my interest (except crocheting!). After reading a few lines, my gut feeling tells me if I'm interested or not. If I am, I will likely keep reading. This being said, I respond well to humor, because it suits me, and it brings some lightness to any story. In general, a well written good story (by my standards of course) will always be a winner with me, but I have read somewhat poorly written stories with great interest because the subject fascinated me. There are actually some authors whose writing is not very good who are extremely popular because once you start reading their books, you just cannot put them down. In the end, the rule is, there is no rule. Find your own style and write the way you would like to read. The words are just the messengers, your story is the message, so write from the heart, that's the way you will touch people...And with like anyhing else in life, remember you cannot please everybody

    I love original hubs whatever topis or genre it is:) It is great to meet a variety of great and interesting individuals through their inspiring, exploring or reflecting writings. Anything that helps me to connect, to learn and to ponder about something new...I love:)
