What was the  most challenging aspect in your transition of becoming an adult?

Consider your answer besides the aspect of  finding a way to earn a living.. Also,  what is the best piece of advice you would give to someone who is just becoming a young adult?

I think that the most challenging thing about becoming an adult is understanding one simple definition: "Adult - a person who finally realized they can do nothing against complete idiots." Which, I think, sums afulthood in all its glory quite nicely.

Moving out and taking on the bills...... these two things hit me hard. I was blissfully unaware that electricity, water, phone, cable, internet etc. costed money. I was dilusional in the thoughts that they were just "provided". It took quite some time for me to get into the swing of things and become a semi-responsible adult.

My biggest problem was figuring out who really loved me and who was just being a jerk, trying for favors. I figured it out but it took a while. True love is hard to find and it is so worth it. I have been married now to a wonderful man for 26 years and it is not easy but worth every bit of work it takes. No one should ever say that a marriage is 50-50. It is more like 75-75. I know, they don't add up but that is more what it truly is.
The best piece of advice that I could give any young person, is to keep your body to yourself until you have it figured out. No one wants to do something that they will regret later or be ashamed of. Don't make a fool of yourself and leave yourself a lot to be proud of.
