Is there an easy way to find out on which page your article is ranked by google search engine?
If you are on the first few pages it's not a problem, but if not I am wondering if there is a quick way to find the page where your article is ranked, without having to laboriously go through each page in turn.
Put the title of your article in quotation marks and then search it on Google. This way only the exact wording gets searched, but of course, this will only give you your rank among other articles with the exact same title.
Are you asking what position your article is ranked on the search engine results page? It is going to be ranked differently for each keyword or keyword phrase.
Also, keep in mind, the rank that you get is not going to be the same as the rank that other people get because Google is now personalizing results to the searcher based on social media, location and other factors. (Yes, SEO keeps getting more difficult.) See these articles for more information:

If you do a Google search, you can find tools to check your ranking. I haven't used them, so I don't know how accurate each is. Here are some links to a few. You might want to do a search for additional sites.

Yes, that is what I meant thanks - perhaps I should have better expressed my question to ask how to search through the google search results to find an article.
Thanks very much for your thoughtful answer and I will have a look at your links.
Esther,
Actually, your question was good. I just wanted to verify.
Thank you for asking the question, I actually plan to write a hub about it.
Have a good day.

Alright, this is a very basic question (yes, I know it is, but.....) I thought I understood this but the other night, someone told me that indexing has no affect on page ranking. He went as far as to say that he has purchased page ranking from Google, etc. I have not heard of...

I just have seen this one. I have tried to search for “most beautiful bird” but I was surprised that Discover.com is ranked higher than Owlcation on Google. Any thought?
