On your knees, eyes closed, hands together - this seems to be the best method.
Sincerely and from the heart. Doesn't matter if you even say anything out loud, He can read your thoughts. He knows when you're lying, which is why He knows we're all sinners. He's seen the past and the future, all in the blink of an eye... And yet, gives us a chance to repent anyway?
We don't deserve to be loved like that. But there it is, Jesus dying for our sins, and people reject it because of what liars have done in the name of Christ.
Matthew 7:
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Don't listen to people on how to pray! There's no specific template. I mean, Jesus gave us a *type* of prayer to follow, but He didn't mean that we should pray it word for word as if it were a chant of some type. The name of Jesus Christ isn't a magic word that gets you out of trouble.
It's a precious name, used with care and respect, concern and love. Our God died for our sins. He died for the sins of His own creation.
So just talk to Him, as if He were standing right next to you. He's listening, and He wants you to get to know Him.
God just wants to have a relationship with us. He's our Heavenly Father. Just think about it as talking to him as you would your best friend.
Of course, there are many books out there that teach on the art of praying. You don't have to do it a certain way, but I do think that it can help to enhance your relationship with Him to consider other things that you may talk about with Him.
I'm an advocate of keeping it conversational. Keeping it you. Keeping it real.
My favorite quote about prayer comes from a book called “Heaven is For Real”:
“[You can] be real with God. [You don't] have to offer some kind of churchy, holy-sounding prayer in order to be heard in heaven. You might as well tell God what you think. He already knows it anyway.”
But others had said, it's important to say, “In Jesus' name I pray, Amen” at the end of your prayers.
I'd have to ask my pastor, though, to make sure this is correct.

I know how strong the intercessory power of Jesus is with Our Father in heaven.I have always had the question lurking in the back of my...
