Do I need to make any attributions if the photos are mine?
Just want to clarify this one. Thanks!
You don't have to, but you may as well confirm that it's yours by putting your own name as the source.
Thanks! I'm just wondering because this may hinder our chances of having our hubs featured in the Hub of the Day.
Also, how do Hubpages determine whether the photos are the authors' or not? Thanks again!
As a general rule, adding a source is the best thing to do. To my knowledge, they don't. However, if you use a photo that isn't yours and the owner finds it, they might claim royalties etc.
I use a lot of my own photos in my Hubs and I always list "bankscottage" as the source (an sometimes use my profile page as the linked website).
I hope this will help me lay claim to the photos it someone tries to use them without my permission.

Does HP need to see the link in order to know that the picture was legally obtained? They insist on it in boot camp, but what about afterwards?I know Pixabay and some other free-image sites don't require attribution. I do it anyway and include the link because I feel I should credit the...

Hello fellow hubbers! I just want to know if I violated the rules in HP regarding over promotional on hubs. I usually have images from freedigitalphotos.net cause aside from the fact that they offer free photos, I find the images really appealing. Now, all of my photos come from that site and...

I've just gone through quite a few 'latest hubs' and as I do I notice there are things slipping through that simply shouldn't. I suggest that as part of the design process there are some checks and balances that would stop a Hub from being published.Headings - all headings should at least start...

I reviewed my article since it was flagged as over promotional. I don´t get it, my hub reviews a product, so its obvious the entire article is about the product. I do not entice people to buy it or to click on alink promoting it. Actually most of the article is very critical of the product. I...

I noticed this message yesterday when uploading a picture to a new hub:"Source URLs in photos are counted as links for purposes of determining if a hub is overly promotional)"Does anyone know what this means exactly -- does it mean if I attribute my photos by URL (as most who offer their...

I am wondering if anyone knows of specific style rules we could refer to for attributions, crediting photographers and so forth? Any hubs on the subject? (Guess I should go and search myself!)
