Can USA  go for Introspection? economic crisis would force them to do damage control, damage repair

The world is expecting that USA will come out of economic crisis , boom cycle will begin. To my knowledge US is still competent and Innovative, if acts to repair  the system. Boom and Bust are the part of  process and no country and community is exception to that.
If USA has many merits then why to worry?  Nobel award every year I think presidential election and debates are going at too low, and stop mud slinging  and some serious measures could be implemented and global consensus on many fundamental issues will break the ice.
India, China are not ills of US economy but should be stabilizers.

To us the outsiders what goes on in USA may look as though it is in a big crisis. This is not so to me a not so good at world economy or anything that bothers people who wonder who is going to be the next President or what will happen if there is a change.
To me no one can Mess USA.

I hope China nuclear bombs the United States. Then all of the United States' problems will finally be solved. I don't know how Americans can put up with their own government. Americans should go to war with their own country for being put on unemployment, standing in a welfare line, being taxed for every damn thing that is imported into America, and also, not being able to mortgage a house because of expensive real estate.

ssaffery - that would only result in your ultimate demise. I have no idea from what country you hail, however, I assure you Americans shall endeavor to persevere and deal appropriately with our government officials.

Hello pramodgokhale - the USA could use a little introspection when evaluating their vote for president 4 years ago. I can only point to the Europeans, who Obama has encouraged to adopt Keynesian government spending, taxation and stimulus policies similar to those implemented by Obama. As you can see, the Euro is falling apart. Citizens are rioting because of government cut backs. France's wealthy are fleeing and taking their money and businesses with them because of the 75 percent tax Hollande imposed (with the vibrant encouragement of the testicularly challenged boy-wonder - Barrack "gi'me all yo money" Obama).

As for the mud slinging in the presidential race - that is all the boy-wonder has to offer. Obama has two things he can claim as a success - Obamacare (which 60 percent of Americans and 90% of businesses want repealed) and killing Osama. Obama's economic policies are an unmitigated disaster which has caused a modern day depression. Obama's energy policies have driven up the cost of gasoline in the US by 104 percent, shut down 15 coal fired power plants owned by FirstEnergy, forced the closure of 6 coal mines owned by Alpha Natural Resources. And Obama's foreign policy of leading from behind and getting "consensus" has proven to be deadly to Americans, which has emboldened our enemies.
Leading my friend, is not achieved via consensus. Leading is showing conviction, strength, resolve and doing what others are unwilling to do because it is most likely unpopular, difficult and treacherous which requires sacrifice. When you think of leaders think of George Washington or General Macarthur, Winston Churchill, Margret Thatcher or Ronald Reagan.
But what America has now as a so-called leader is a pathetic excuse and shinning example of the putrid rubbish America has been producing for the past 50 years of expanding the socialist Entitlement State. Unless America returns to its capitalist principles based on Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness - where else is there to go? And in order to get back to basics - Obama must be defeated.

Unfortunately is seems the day of the statesman is in danger.  I see many selfish  brats in congress that do not have a clue how to discuss issues with intellegence.  I know there are many intellegent statesmen able to find solutions to our problems.  But these people get voted out or quit.  I hope as a nation we realize we need statesmen with knowledge of the world, law, history and consequenses.  People who know how to compromise for the good of the whole.  With serious congress people there is no problem to big for us to conquer.
