Do you take your Autumn Pictures from the side of the road or do you walk in the woods?
This is the time of the year to get some great photographs of the beautiful autumn colors. I notice that some pople just stop on the side of the road and take a snapshot.I like to walk in the woods and enjoy being surrounded by the colorful natural scenery. What do you do?
I do both. Sometimes, I wonder around for hours. Sometimes, I see the light hitting the spot just right, as I drive by. So I stop the car and grab that shot. It really depends on each day and anount of time I have. Fall is my favorite season, so I try to make time to have at least a few beautiful pictures.
hold my coffee- sounds great, I do both myself. I get a larger variety of shots when I roam a little. Thanks for the response.
Side of the road or on our own property. I am not a big fan of "woods walking." We have a lot of bears and mountain lions in our area and I am the original chicken.
duffs mom- LOL- If I had such Critters roaming around, Iwould do exactly as you do.
I do both. When I walk my dogs I take my camera in a bag so I can get the woodsy shots and beautiful shots of the trail. I also stop my car when I see a good photo opp. I think it's always a good idea to have the camera with me so I don't miss a good one.
Minnetonka Twin- Such a great idea that so many of us should follow. As I was once told by a fellow photographer, "If you don't have the camera with you then you will obviously miss the shot".
Thanks for the response.
Hello Don, Autumn for me is a wonderful time to get out and about with a camera, as such i spend hours exploring woods and park lands in the hope of bagging a good shot. I feel very privileged to live in a temperate climate and i feel very lucky to be able to experience all four seasons.
paulgc, old friend, so good to hear from you. I hope all is well with you and yours. I agree wholeheartedly with you about taking the occasional "nature walk" with camera in hand. Especially on a bright sunny day.
Thanks for the response.
I love to take long scenic drives, stopping along the way to photograph as much nature as I can that captures my eye. I am lucky enough to have many woodland trails to walk about, looking for natures surprises. Great question. Since it is sunshiny now, I am outta here to take pictures!
Ruby, thanks for your response. It seems, so far that we tend to be oth nature slanderers as well as roadside photographers.
There is nothing better than a walk in the woods with your camera, especially in the fall with all the colors. There is so much to see that you would miss just stopping on the side of the road.
Usually, I would opt for the walk in the woods...simply because it's a good excuse to do so ;-)

Okay, here is a scenario. You are taking a walk on a side-walk and there is an object next to the side-walk. Is it stealing to pick that object up? The object is irrelevant. In this case it was just a toy, that was probably worth five dollars. I had a gut feeling it was just dropped by a garage...

If you saw a stranger in trouble, would you help them or walk away?
