   I believe I have answered this a few times, including a Hub, but here goes...
   #1 - The 47% statement is not that far off.  Though its probably more like 30% or a bit more.  3rd and 4th generation Welfare recipients, 109 million Americans total on some form of 'Welfare'.
   #2 - Obama got that 30% out to vote in the key swing states like Ohio.  They literally dragged people out of bed, drove them to the voting booth, and told them how to vote (any stories you hear about free phones and free meals were probably true as well).
   #3 - The Unions were paid off for support in advance, in the form of the stimulus package, which was a major kick-back to Unions and other Obama supporters.
   #4 - The Obama Campaign really hit a home run painting Romney as ANTI-Woman and a legitimate threat to Abortion. ... even though we've had Abortion in America for over 30 years (legal in every state) even though it wasn't even an issue Romney cared to address, and would likely have no opportunity to.
   #5 - One can not over-estimate the importance of #4.  Women make up 53% of the voting block, and about 60% of them voted against Romney (almost 80% of single women)... you CAN'T win the Presidency with less than 50% of the woman vote.
   So long as Republicans  allow themselves to be painted as ANTI-Women's Rights and ANTI-Abortion and allow people to run for office that say idiotic things like "pregnancy from Rape is still a miracle" ... they will lose.
   The America our founding fathers envisioned died years ago...

   There was a time, when only those who owned land could vote, now those that depend on government entitlements for survival have become the biggest voting block (non gender).

      I didn't realize how radical Obama really is, trying to woo poor people and workers. I understand that he got more votes among all minorities too. Enduring decades of Conservatism will bring people out in droves to change it.

   Yes! They have coined the phrase "angry older white men" to describe the current GOP for a reason. Even top Republicans are coming out and saying we have screwed up and it is time to look realistically at the makeup of this country and try to woo more than the Christian FAR right.
   
   Obama won because he and his direction appealed to more voters even with a less than stellar performance the last four years.  I think most people that voted for him might be just a little more realistic when it comes to how long it takes to dig yourself out of a deep hole and the debt that went with it.
   
   He went out with foot soldiers to get those votes he needed.  Obama won the country's richest counties, but also got the vote from women, minorities and the poor, so those trying to say the infamous 47 percent and those relying on handouts got him another 4 years in the Whitehouse is bunk. As far as the white vote goes Obama’s 39 percent showing among white voters matched the percentage that Bill Clinton received in 1992, Walter Mondale in 1984, Jimmy Carter in 1980 and George McGovern in 1972. As for white voters not turning out, it is not a new thing the white vote has been decline since 1992.

      "Obama won the country's richest counties" ... California and New York have been notorious for decades now, of doing the worst things for their state and federal government... that's why they're the worst states in the Country, taxes and ecomomically
