My 1st real clue was when I was sat in the house alone at about 3am and all the toys that were in the corner of the room suddenly raised themselves up into the air and launched themselves all the way across the room!  I jumped out of my skin but it didn't really freak me out, not that much anyway.

I also experience the smell of baking in the early hours of the morning (in the same house). I have written about these experiences in a few of my hubs.

That must be un-nearving to say the least! I have never seen things move by themselves yet and I pray I would never! Smelling is very interesting too, that reminded me of an experience i had one time. I will sure check out your hubs xo

I am a paranormal investigator so my life is going in haunted places, lol. I look at several factors before ever assuming a place is haunted. I want personal experiences, photographic and video evidence and audio as well. If I have 2 of the 3 I can confedently say haunted, if not I have to weigh what I do have against natural occurances and than make the determination.

wow i couldn't imagine what being a paranormal investigator must have been like. You probably have more guts then some of us (me!) lol. However i would imagine gathering hard evidences must be difficult sometimes.

I was landlady of a haunted pub..I have written a hub about my experiences. Although I never saw anything except for passing shadows, I certainly sensed a presence or two as did others. My husband and one of our bar staff saw a ghostly lady at the same time, and my youngest daughter too, and she also heard voices. Even if you donĀ“t see anything your senses do pick up on the sensation of not being alone as it where.

that must be some experience indeed! It is great when what you experienced could be validated by those of others. It is not so nice when you are the only one experiencing it and others just look at you funny. I'll definitely check out your hubs ox

A few years ago, when I was looking to buy a property, I had a very paranormal encounter with a house that defied logical explanation.
It was a lovely weekend, one of those days with such brilliant sunshine and gentle breeze that made me... read more

I visited a house once that was haunted.  I knew it was haunted because I could see the different spirits that inhabited the house.  There was a spirit in just about every portion of the house.

In the middle of the house was a pull down staircase.  Before I even climbed the stairs, I knew what the room at the top looked like.  When I reached the top of the staircase, I was standing in a room that I had dreamed of a couple months prior.  It was the exact room.  The bed was in the same place.  The window was located in the same place.  In the dream, there was a door that was closed and kept closed by the turning of a wooden peg.  It was kept closed only from the outside.  On the other side of the door, was a dismal unfinished attic.  This same door, wooden peg, and unfinished attick behind the door were in the actual room I had entered at the top of the staircase.

It was a pretty awesome experience.

wow elenagarcia, that's really something! You must be really psychic, seeing all the spirits clearly and having a clear prophetic dream like that. Any idea why you had that particular dream? Is that house significant in any way to you personally?

I tried to research the info given to me in the dream, but no luck.  I hope to try again one day.  I don't know the reason for the dream.  The house belonged to my ex-sister-in-law.  She had just moved in when I went to the house.  She rented it.

woo you meant she had to live in that haunted house? How did she fare? It probably takes very specific body type to be able to live in a house like that unaffected....I will not last 2 seconds as I feel everything in my body...as mentioned in my hub

i never told her.  she later told me, however, that she suspected.  she began to experience the little boy at night.  family didn't like to stay over.  she didn't live in house for more than may 3 or 4 years and then moved.

I have been in houses and location that were allegedly haunted. I don't have any confirmation either way whether they were haunted.

My Uncle's house is actually haunted with spirits. A few years ago, there was a horrific motorbike accident just outside his place where the victim was decapitated. Since then, he has had the airconditioner, sound system and TV turn on by themselves. A few months ago I stayed over. The next morning, his girlfriend asked why I went to the downstairs toilets instead of upstairs next to my room. I replied, I didn't go to the toilet. The stairs there are really dangerous, so if I did sleep walk, I would've fallen. She told me she saw a light going through the house and heard footsteps.
