    Have you celebrated Christmas in the tropics? If so, how does it compare to a traditional Christmas?

    Many people are flying off to find the sun this Christmas, it can be cheaper than celebrating at home and can also be a way to avoid choosing which family to spend the holidays with or who to invite.

    Yes, I lived in Hawaii for 3 years, so we celebrated it 3 times.  I've got to admit, it seemed strange and I can't say it really felt like Christmas to me.  Perhaps it's because I had such traditional things, like cold winters, snow, etc.  it just didn't feel like Christmas walking around in shorts and t-shirts and hot weather.  Even with holiday lights, etc....just did not seem the same to me.
