We are not only created in God's image but we are made of God.We are all one. God divided his/herself into smaller pieces so that the smaller pieces;Souls could see and witness the Glory of God. All paths lead to God because God is all there is. Even the wildest mountian stream will eventualy reach the ocean. It doesn't matter what you believe in because all thoughts and beliefs are within God. God is perfect in all ways and every way leads back to the creator of all God.

While I honor 'twistedc' position, it is not traditional for several different theologies. To answer your question, it becomes necessary to know your spiritual/religious background and if you are asking the question from that frame of reference or are asking from a philosophical stance.

    Why do you care?

If you lived sinfully (as 75% of human population does according to Leviticus), what difference will it make if you start believing after your death? You get a lollipop and a heaven club-card?

Why do you think no-one returns from the dead to tell you "There is/isn't god up there and he blah-blah-blah"?

    Either:

    There is no after life.
    There is no god.
There is no way to return.
There is no reason to return.
There is a damn-good reason you don't know if there is or isn't such deity and another damn-good reason that you are supposed to believe blindly or not at all.

Maybe by then it doesn't matter because you'll already be with Him

Yes indeed; God gave me a chance to believe after-death. I became clinically brain-dead after suffering from a massive bleed to the brain in 2003. By the Grace of God I survived (after 30 days in a comatose state) and actually benefited significantly from my experience. Thus, I am living proof that God indeed did this.
