What would be the first thing you did if told you had to hire 5 people in next 24 hrs.?
I have until tomorrow afternoon to hire 5 people because I just took over a lot of work for a company. I am scrabbling because there is a lot going on. Where would you start? I'm use to hiring just not hiring 5 in 24 hours and having them ready to work by then!
I d look to freinds or family. If you cannot do that or don't want to, Craigslist is another option.
BTW .. Where do you live, I'm in the market for a good job. lol
lol If you live in SC I can give you inspection jobs adding up to about $600 wk. part time!
Im in atlanta , but i was raised in nc and my favorite place in the world is Myrtle Beach!
Headed over to Myrtle beach in March! Though I prefer the Charleston beaches, hubby prefers MB. I'm happy so long as there's sand!
Gutted I live in the UK! lol I'd go for family, friends and online sites like craigslist to start with too, at least until you have time to really look for staff properly. Just take people on a temporary contract for a few weeks, then put the jobs out properly and they can always apply and re interview for the job. If you ever need editor/proofreader I offer this to private clients online!
Yes, definitely hire ONLY on a temp-possible hire basis- and tell whoever you hire this. That way you will ensure that the people you do hire will do a good job - at least for the first few weeks!
Going with craigslist for now. Not great so far! Hoping it will improve in the morning!
I'd collect all friends and family...because I already know them...but would be selective and choose those that I am sure would be good employees.....There certainly are a huge pool of unemployed to choose from, !!
Call a temp service, I've used these before it fills a great temporary need, it'll give you a chance to find some quality help. I go thru this every couple years as business is always changing along with your customer base.
I agree with ShootersCenter - I've used temp services many times and it is a good short term solution - also gives you an uncommitted chace to evaluate the individuals they send you.
I would call a Temp service and ask for more than needed, at least someone will have screened them a little. Getting an employee from an un-screened source might lead to problems in the future. Better safe than sorry.
I'd get off Hubpages and start checking resumes... Kidding! Good luck!
If family or friends were not able to help I'd check out Kijiji for people looking for jobs, or even call a temp service to where you can bring in 5 people just to test them out for a few weeks. If you go through a temp agency then you won't be stuck with someone that doesn't work out and you can spend those weeks picking potential replacements. And I am from SC, so this is how I would do it.

What is the best temp-to-hire temp agency? What is the best temp-to-hire temp agency. I find that in Upstate New York they are pretty bad, but I have had better experiences in other states.

How long do files stay in the temp folder?I opened an email attachment I shouldn't have at work (my payslip - pdf) on a shared computer. OPENED, not saved. Does that stay in a temporary folder somewhere, and how long until it is deleted?

Hello Hubfriends,I know there have got to be people out there who've lived through the attempted (or actual) suicide of a child. In this case it's a teen boy. I know the mom quite well and I also know her son pretty well (he's like my adoptive son).Good news is he lived.I've been getting...
