What are your reasons for being less active at times on Hubpages? ...
It could be that a busy life and less time for HP keeps one away. Or, feeling less attracted because of the tone of the Questions and Answers. Or having less inspiration to write. .... And, what brings you back into more activity on Hubpages?
Well, there IS life beyond HP and other places to write online content, not to mention other pursuits and activities having nothing to do with cyberspace. Even an old geezer has to...wants to go outside every now and then. There's an ebb and flow to everything that applies to life on the Hub as well. Even the moon doesn't remain full all the time.
Well, old geezer, I have to agree.
I suppose my curiosity was piqued because I have noticed how the tone changes as well as the volume of interaction with different people on and off. Like you say, the ebb and flow.
I slow down here usually when I have a lot of paying clients coming in or when life gets in the way. Last year there was a major recovery for my son and I stopped writing all together, everywhere for a couple of months to attend to him after his accident. Other times I find I tend to get into "feast or famine" cycles as a freelancer. Sometimes I get so many projects I get overwhelmed and then quickly go back to zero for a period until it picks up again. Those tend to be the times I'll write hubs more prolifically. Now that I'm doing the apprentice thing, that should hopefully compel me to be more regular in publishing hubs.
I wondered about people's lives, how it is for others. That gives me a picture. Thanks and good wishes for your apprenticeship.
Normally, I come back because I have free time. Life is exceptionally busy and constantly distracting. If not hubpages, there is always something else to do.
Busy with house hold chores, kids and work. What brings me back is when i log in to my email, HP will send messages to me to encourage me to write on. That's why i am active now. Try to reschedule my time for HP every day.
In my case, Hubpages rejuvenated the author in me. I loved writing and tried writing off and on for years. I currently work as an editor/technical writer for a fire service training publisher so when I get home, I don't feel like writing. Hubpages renewed that interest for me! After 31 Hubs, I got back into working on some stories and am now close to publishing two children's stories and a science fiction novel!
Once these are published, I plan to work on a number of new Hubs to get the creative juices flowing. Then I'll go back and work on the children's series and science fiction novel series again!
I balance my HubPages writing against other, paying work that I have at the time; in fact, the main advantage about my HP schedule is that it is extremely flexible and my activity here harmonizes well with my consultancy work.
That said, I do try and have some routine with HP and try to either write or tweak hubs on a daily basis and spend time promoting in appropriate places.

If so, how much would that cost? How would I find one? Here's the thing. I'm 69. I have at least 3 big projects I'd like to do. Of course, at 69, I have to choose carefully - especially since the one I THINK I really want to do would take me a few years. (One of...

What do you believe are the most common reasons why solid writers on HP stop writing?Looking at still listed Hubbers who show no recent activity, I have noted good Hubs they wrote which had few comments and sometimes they had not even replied to the comments they received. Just as with...
