Answering questions, read and comment on hubs and share the hubs you enjoy with others, follow other hubbers, participate in the forums... and other things of that nature are the keystones to getting more involved in the community.
In turn this will raise your AuthorScore, increase your traffic, allow you to meet fantastic people, and allow you to help others who are just starting out themselves with the information you have learned.
