Is there a way to stop people rehashing the same subjects?

Is there a way to stop people rehashing the same subjects?

I have noticed a plethora of ‘How to live wisely in difficult financial times’ sorts of hubs. Mostly they repeat the same old, and obvious, instructions to cut this, that and the other.

Does anyone else find this irritatingly lazy and rather patronising?

Actually, frugal living is one of my favorite topics, whether to write or read. I like to read about thrifty tips. Even under the same topics, people have different perspectives. Sure, there will be some of the same ideas and tips, but, for the most part, I always enjoying checking out these topics to search for new ideas. I might feel differently if I weren't so interested in the topic.

Thanks for your POV, Victoria …
What I was trying to get across is that they are often saying the same thing, they are using different words to explain the same ideas. I too am interested in thrift tips but I only need to read them once ...

Angie:  You have forgotten that the purpose of HP for many people is to make money.  In bad economic times, the general public thirsts for financial advice, and thus becomes a good audience for this type of article, which, by the way, can be extremely helpful.

Since each writer adds different information, a person reading such articles learns a little bit more each time he reads.

Google wants us to serve the customer, and that is exactly what these types of articles do.

You could make the same complaint about recipe articles, couldn't you?  How many articles have you seen about how to make the best chili, chicken soup or meatloaf?  Same concept as the financial articles and for the same reason.

You may not like seeing this type of writing, but obviously the public does and people won't stop writing them until they stop making money!

Thanks for your input, TT2 but to reiterate the point I am complaining about is that I have found there is no NEW  information in these articles. I have read countless of them on saving money and they all have the same ideas … nothing new to add.
