When you read a book, will you read from cover to cover or will you jump to the end?.

Which part is the most crucial part in your reading?

At some time, I'll bet everyone has peeked ahead at least once!  Unless a book is boring, I prefer to read it cover to cover without skimming ahead. A well-written book will keep me happily reading each and every word!

I do agree with you..at some point you may peeked ahead just to find out what happen next right?..but will you be able to get the whole picture without reading from cover to cover?. For me, the most crucial part in every book is the beginning.

If it is a romantic story or novel then definitely not, i don't jump to the end, actually i read line by line..

I read cover to cover. I would lose my mind if I did not know how the beginning transitioned into the end.

I TRY....and I emphasize TRY........to wait until I get to the end of the book to see what happens.  Sometimes though my curiosity gets the better of me and I peek at the end and regret it and lose interest in the book!

Curiosity might be a good reason most readers peek into the ending, and also might be a reason why readers lose interest to keep continue reading the whole book. Thanks Emily.

First I look at the back.
But I usually start at the beginning.
How else is there to read a book?
Well unless you are in college and have to hurry up and skip chapters.
    That's a big help.
    I like surprise endings.
But some read the end first.
I don't think it's good for college students to do this.

Boy, you found the big problem of my marriage. I read fiction end-to-end, and I see it as a matter of respect for the author. My wife skips ahead to the end, and it is hard for me to bear.

I usually read non-fiction end-to-end, but I will skip, skim, or seek out what I want to know if only part of the book is of interest.
