I go to the library and look around. It seems to clear my head. I also take a walk. It's amazing what pops into your head while being outdoors.
You have to find a method that works for you. Best of luck.
Approach it in several ways:
1. Start writing something - what are your interests, are you passionate enough about them to transmit your enthusiasm?
2. Look through newspapers - there might be a story that 'grabs' your imagination, something you can perhaps fictionalise?
3. Do you have a creative hobby? Look through a periodical or two, more maybe. See something someone else has written that you could approach differently?
4. Have you seen something lately that got you worked up? Write down some points you could address and work on them; 'hone your weapon', as they say the pen is mightier than the sword.
Need any more than this? Go for a walk, clear your head, have a drink of something and sit down to a conversation with someone in the cafe/diner/pub/bar. You never know, it could come just like that! Don't wait for inspiration, though. Inspiration's like winning the lottery, it might never come!
Writers block can affect any writer I enjoy long walks which allow my ind to open p to new ideas, While walking you can spot new plants or herbs and what a great idea to write about it.
One way is to read other hubbers' work and generate ideas from what you have read I also wrote a hub about that topic so please take a look and see if it gives you any ideas http://msshandriaball.hubpages.com/hub/ … ters-block
oh Boy!! This is my wheelhouse. As a recently signed author with Ch & BB Publishing, and a pubbed author of poetry, creative non fiction & short fictions, too, let me just say this: exercise!!
We have a left side of the brain--logic (it cross-wires innna body) Then there is the right--creativity. Between these two is our cerebral cortex, that, when stimulated through cardiovascular activity, bridges the 'bellums and promotes creativity--since creativity actually comes from a place of "no mind" (no logic)
I run almost every day--bike, hike, etc--and it is the best time of the day for me. It's my treat to myself--my bond with the outdoors--and man!! I come back, brimming with ideas that were so not there before. I invite you to come see my author blog, Cuttler, and see if you don't agree.

Well, summer is fast approaching here in sunny Florida, so I've been busy clearing as much area as possible to grow an organic garden. Florida betony, by the way, has an ubiquitous root system! Today I'm feeling a little fatigued, and if any of you have casually checked my Facebook posts, you'll...

Figures, the HubChallenge hits, I had tons of ideas swarming in my head about what to write, I sit down to write, and I go blank! It's annoying and it sucks. What do you all do to help you stimulate your writing or unblock your writer's block?
