What are some books you have read in the past that you reread down the line?
Mine are A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens read it 3 times
The Left Behind Series by Tim Lehaye and Jerry Jenkins Got to the Last Book then started over because I forgot a lot-Starting Appolyon (Book 5)
Dragonlace Books-Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman Read the Chronicles and Legends Trilogies over 20 years ago and so many more books to read. Reading the Chrponicles
I've read tons of books and there have been several that I just loved but I have only read one book twice. "The Great Gatsby" by F. Scott Fitzgerald. I love the imagery he used. I can't read books more than once because as soon as I start reading them again, the whole book starts flooding back and I don't want to continue. I guess I'm just weird because I can watch movies a million times...
I do hang on to a lot of books though in case I ever do decide to read one a second time. Go figure..
I love my books. But sometimes I need to down size:(
I can't believe how much I forget after I read a book
I had to read to kill a mockingbird in High school and have read it at least twice since.
I've re-read the first five Harry Potter books at least three times. And I read Stephen King's On Writing twice. I know that I had Huck Finn assigned to me several times, but I can't remember the exact number. But, I feel it's important to re-read our favorite books as a way to remind ourselves why we loved reading in the first place. I make it a point to re-read something from my past every year as a way of reconnecting with my past adventures.
I've re-read Douglas Adams' "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" books numerous times over the years.
I've read " The Thornbirds" twice.
The other ones I went back to double check certain things.
I can read poetry over and over again.
And the Bible.
I like to look back on books to reference things and yes the Bible
There are two that I have read over and over again. Suds in Your Eye, by Mary Lasswell - a wonderful fictional story about 3 old gals that move in together, written during WW II. Wrinkle in Time, a kids book is a wonderful little book and I love rereading it.
Pride & Prejudice (Austen) - never fails to entertain and the characters are so vivid.
To Kill a Mockingbird (Lee) - a gentle book though about not-so-gentle subjects.
Winnie-the-Pooh (Milne) - it still makes me laugh on an adult level & still entertains
the children.
From the Corner of his Eye (Koontz) - such deep characters, gentle & sinister, an
intriguing story.
Plus all the stories in the 'Narnia' series (CS Lewis) - bit dated now but beautiful stories for ages 10-100.
Yes Narnia should be on my list as well
feel the fear and do it anyways, by Susan Jeffers
From panic to Power, Lucinda Bassett
Co dependant no more series, melody Beattie.
and oh so many more;)
I love historical biographies and reading of lives in other centuries.
