Has any one else noticed a connection between religious debate and drop of score?
I thought it was just me, but then I started looking at the scores of others who are active in religious debate here on HP. I noticed a large amount of us have scores below 95. If I avoid religious debate for a week it will go up. While I really don't care about the score, if staff simply drops it because we voice our opinions I'd like to know. 49 of my 50 hubs are featured. I get good traffic from google. I'm active in commenting. So that isn't why it drops. It went from 99 to 92 a few days ago when I posted a religion related question.
Hey peeples, well I was stuck at an 88 forever. So, there may be some truth to this question. I had normally stayed in the low to mid 90's. I do all of the things you have said also. But, I think it to be ridiculous if this is so.
You do talk about religion a lot.
Maybe it's time to move on.
I only talk of it in very limited circles.
I only try to do what is right in the eye's of God. And when attacked, I will defend myself and my God.
I don't believe that it's associated with being involved in religious debates. My score fluctuates from over and under 95 fairly often, and I've not actively participated in them. I highly doubt that, in an environment such as Hubpages, that they would actively penalize people for having and voicing your opinions.
I do wish though that there was a clear-cut way of determining how scores are generated, so that we could know what areas we're falling behind on that's resulting in the reduction in score.
I've seen this after I've answered or commented on a few religious questions as well. Also, there are some who are trolls online and I've come to the conclusion, while it's not nice to think of, that it's possible that those who disagree with your views felt they could take you down a notch or two by voting down your hubs or answers. Just my two cents from experience here and elsewhere online.
Interesting question. I never associated it with hub fluctuation, but now I'm going to notice whether it affects mine. I usually don't avoid controversial questions or hubs if they are interesting..
That's why I never discuss religion.
I will not write or post on this subject.
But almost everything is hard to write about with out getting really criticized.
LOL, I saw my hub score drop by one point, after commenting on a hub on religion. Best not to touch on those subjects then. Better to play by the rules of the game, rather than fight the rules.
I did get involved with some Christian debates but did notice my score went up. I was in the mid 60s and now I am 80. But I also published a few more hubs so that may have been why also.
LoisRyan, I thought HubPages was started only in 2006, or am I mistaken?
LoisRyan13903 is talking about score!
Now I get it! I thought he was referring to his age, LOL.
My browser went cuckoo, just like me! LoisRyan is a she, right? I realized my mistake immediately after I post but somehow, my browser refused to allow me to edit.
Walter I was stalking about the score. Few weeks ago it was in the 60s. Age wise 40s. My score did drop when I followed too many people so I guess that can hurt the hub score.
LoisRyan13903, I didn't know that following too many people can hurt the hub score. Sorry for thinking that you are 80 years old!
I misread your statement as meaning: "I did get involved with some Christian debates when I was in the mid 60s...", LOL
Well, I did go round and round last week on a few religious discussions recently but I don't think that's why my score dropped (was 98-100 for the better part of the last three weeks). A lot of folks here on HP are seeing their traffic tank and that takes a toll on the scores, too.
I've been told that some people will make a point of voting down the Hubs of people that "argue" with them on HubPages. Truthfully, I'd hope that people would be more adult than that but can't expect much better on the internet.
I have written several hubs on religious issues and while in the beginning the scores of them seem to drop the scores always seem to increase from the original score. I do not believe that religious hubs affect scores one way or the other as it is the topic and how well it is written that brings visitors. It is also important to have a good title to draw visitors to the hub and to promote it on ofther social networking sites. This helps to increase the visitors to a particular hub but also other hubs you have written.

I've been making a screendump of my overall hub stats each day to try and keep track of what's going on so I can work out "what works on HubPages" and what doesn't. The aim is to determine some sort of priority about what to do next.Up until now I've been focused on the traffic data and...

Has anyone noticed a marked change in their hub scores? I only noticed today so not sure if it happened today or in the recent past.. But some of my hubs have seen a marked increase from 70's and 80's into the 90's and even a 100...Is anyone else seeing a real change?

It continues to baffle me how the Hubs I've written with the least amount of effort and attention to detail end up being the highest scoring Hubs out of all my content. Every time I write a Hub my score upon featured status is immediately around 65 and my scores never dip below that, rarely do they...

I am just curious, all 92 hubs of mine are featured. In your opinion, should one delete (although Featured) any hubs where the score on a particular hub has eventually dropped way down from when it was initially high at one point? Or would it be better to just unpublish and later...

No update on the stats in 32 hours. Yesterday my Hubber Profile score dropped a point and when I signed in this morning it had dropped another point. My hub score has rapidly dropped 2 points. Is there a connection between the stats not updating and my Hubber score? Seems like a pretty rapid...

Just had a big drop on my profile score. And all my hubs were featured along with a steady 10 Editors Choice. I say 'were' because 3 were just unfeatured and I don't know what to do about that. My views are over 945,000. Boo-hoo. Hubpages doesn't love me anymore!
