   I LOVED him! I was so upset to hear about this passing today. He was a fantastic actor that played a fantastic role. I love the Sopranos. May he rest in peace, he was extremely talented

   James Gandolfini, the actor, I liked very much.  His talent was amazing and his generosity, well-known by all.  "Tony Soprano?".....not so much.  In reality, there is nothing exciting, romantic or "likeable" about the MOB.   Sure, JG played the part like the genius actor he was......but you asked if we loved or hated his "character."
   His character was that of a mob-boss, who made his money via illegal means, made decisions to wipe other humans off the face of the earth, at will, (for the "good of the FAMILY").....stole, lied, cheated, tortured, maimed, terrorized, & slaughtered.  Tony Soprano loved his wife and children, family & followers.....yet had no respect, concern or compassion for the lives of his competitors and their families. ......What's to like about a guy like Tony?

      There is much to like about an actor that can portray a diverse character w/authenticity. I haven't met a person that wasn't flawed or doesn't haven't a regret. Lies, terror, theft, etc are real. We can't close our eyes 2 realities of life.

      LOL....I can ASSURE you, my life experiences with REALITIES was of ENORMOUS proportion, by the time you entered the world.  You preach to the choir.  I SAID:  James, the actor, I love.  "Tony Soprano," would not be a chosen, GOOD friend.  R.E.A.D. !

   Loved the actor and Soprano's. Complete shock that he passed. Even his 3 minute role in True Romance, genius!
   
   Tony was a complex guy, wouldnt want to get on his bad side.
