What irritates you the most about how readers comment on your hubs?
Let's face it, some people provide useful comments, others constructive comment, however others may be rude. What habits or behaviors irritate you the most when they comment on your hubs?
The only thing that really bothers me is when people comment on my hub with only negative things to say. Some people mean it in a nice way but don't need to comment on my hub to point out its flaws. As for anything else I don't really care. I have a blog where all people do is post links but it doesn't bother me.
I find it irritating when all I get for a story is "interesting". It's not the worst word they could use but I want to hear more about what they liked and didn't like.
I guess I welcome any kind of comment just as long as it doesn't include any kind of profanity or insult. Comments don't bother me at all.
It bugs me when people use comments to push their own agenda rather than actually commenting on the article.
Spam! Somehow I've gotten loads and loads of it, often in unreadable script. This content is not by hubbers, however!
I haven't had any problems with comments. I haven't had but two that were questionable and I deleted them. I am just grateful that someone took the time to comment after reading my work.
Honestly I've not received any rude comments on HubPages... Spam yes, but rude no. One liners comments (great hub, voted up) generally give me the feeling of "Present Sir" with the allusion to "You should come read mine". (Some people don't bother with allusions, whether it be fan mail or comments, they specify their motto in clear words )
One word comments are worse, they are rarely worth the effort of clicking the button
What irritates me most is that why can't a person spare 5 extra seconds on a comment? Why don't they realize the potential of good readership? Of all people, how can authors not differentiate between follower-ship and readership?
Comment are best if they simply present your thought/reaction after reading a hub - even if it's a oneliner. An accomplished short story writer posted on my short story, "Whoa! Keep it up!" It made me happy So IMHO choice of words would make a great difference when comments are one word or one liners.
By the way, I loved this question
I sometimes feel the same way about one word comments. I would definitely love to see more meaningful comments on hubs. When I read other hubs, I also read the comments and comment on other people's comments.
Yup, that's sometimes a very good way of enhancing a hub. And since as authors we would like our hubs to enhance, we should try for same thing for other hubs. What goes around comes around

Do you make a comment on every Hub you vote "up" after reading?I always do make a comment, even a short one, and just wondered if a lot of people read and vote without comment. Do you ever read and not vote? I have done that occasionally.

I am still new to Hubpages and have been enjoying a rather successful start. Thank you to those who have voted my articles up and those few of you who have begun to follow me. But I have noticed one thing of late and maybe it is the way it goes but I think it is disrespectful. I have commented on a...

How important is it to have a comment section on your hubs, or How important is it to respond?I was going through some of the hubs that belong to some of the top paid hubbers ( info found on the success story page) and a lot of those people do not respond to comments. In fact, many of their...

For years I have been diligent about responding to questions left on my hubs. But now I've discovered comments are being published on my articles without appearing in my Comments section, so I look like I'm rude and ignoring readers who go to the effort of writing.Today I spent ages waiting for...

Does it bother you that people visit your hubs and don't leave comments? What's more important to you, getting tons of traffic with no comments or getting less traffic with comments? For me, I love to get comments because it lets me know if I have touched someone or given someone a new way of doing...
