What is the best guitar looper pedal at a reasonable price? Other attached effects would be fine.
And are there other pedals you would strongly recommend getting? I really want a looper though so I can play two parts of a song together.
Depends. If it's just a looper probably under $200.
I assume you are referring to a delay pedal that you might use to thicken a sound or create echo with longer delay times. I never used individual pedals much and found that the multiple effects units like those from Boss were the best bang for the buck. The pedals just require too many cables and batteries or power supply to link them effectively. If you start to build a sort of home studio, you end up with miles of wire going that route.
I now use my computer more with a Steinberg CI2+ as the link between the analog and digital world and run the guitar through Cubase 7 and VST (virtual instrument) effects which gives you incredible flexibility but at a cost of course. Headphones or my little Bose 3 companion speakers work well. It is surprising how a Hammond B3 emulation sounds on those. I must admit I haven't done much with the guitar yet because my current setup is quite new. My Boss unit is the old plastic one and I only used headphones since my neighbours would appreciate that. Today's version is steel and uses good old fashioned knobs so you can dime up your amp. No there is no eleven on the unit. USB is quickly replacing all my old midi stuff and VST libraries replace all the sound modules.
I've done some VST stuff with Propeller heads Reason. I wasn't talking about delay. A looper pedal lets you store a melody you play for a few measures, then you can play it back while you play a different melody.
I checked the Boss ME25 and 70 both have 38 second loopers and are multi effects as well for 200 and 310 dollars in Canada. I can't see buying single use pedals with this kind of option available.
