Do you think the Republican congress will support Obama in actions taken against Syria?

Now that Obama has put this issue in front of Congress for approval or disapproval, how will it go? It seems like it should be a no-brainer, however, the history of the Republican Congress seems to be that instead of addressing the problem at hand, they dwell on what he should have done a year ago. Even FoxNews is having trouble finding something wrong with this decision.

I am sorry to lay it out like this but it seems appropriate. Two lawyers that know and respect each other meet in court. The facts of the matter are clear. Each must argue the opposing view for the judge to get a clear picture. So now they move forward.
It is Congress's job to argue against the executive branch and the Judiciaries job to mediate. It just works out well that way. It was designed that way and is the best that way.
The fourth estate is floundering these days. Damn shame. They either align with Congress of with the Executives, instead of breaking it down and criticizing --ugly and could ruin us..
"Freedom of Speech and Press" are not really freedoms they are obligations.

I understand the concept of debate, My concern is that all of Congress realize that this decision is bigger than politics.  A political battle can only convince the world that we are a divided government and weaker than we present ourselves.

Let us just say that I am infinitely aware of politics from Communist Vietnam to Socialist Mexico to crazy France and New England to San Diego.
We dog 'em and we glorify their mistakes and we media evaluate them. Uh uh, uh uh and uh uh. Ain;t right.

I think the employees of General Dynamic, Raytheon, and Lockheed Martin will vote in favor of their profit margin. While some might be disturbed by having to side with Obama, I'm sure buying their fourth vacation house will provide sufficient comfort.

I think he is hoping they DO NOT support him so that he can get out of his commitment due to his red line ultimatum.  He is in a position where he left himself no room so he has to act and this way he can save face.

If you are right, he can't lose. The man is smarter than the credit we give him. Thank you for a sensible response.
