   Gaining more in life has nothing to with with whether or not someone talks a lot. It has more to do with ambition and determination. Both quiet and talkative people have these traits.
   
   One could say that a quiet person may learn more because they are more observant, which isn't always the case. However one could also say the one who talks the most will learn more because they are not afraid to ask questions.
   
   One could also say the quiet person may not stand up for themselves while the talkative person is not afraid to voice their opinions. That is not always the case either.
   
   What you accomplish in life has to do with you as the individual and not your talkative or non-talkative nature.

   The individual who talks lots can be  meaningless but not every individual  has meaningless conversation. The quiet one may have lots  to say but chooses to be silent and copes with life differently. Both kind of individuals can be successful but it in their own ways.

   I think its just about even. There are advantages and disadvantages to both. At times, you get more by being quiet. Others you get more by talking. With either situation, its hard to tell how observant they are being. It is also, that just because they are talking doesn't mean that they aren't actually paying attention. It goes both ways.

   It's been said, "The squeaky wheel gets the grease" and " Fortune favors the bold!"
   I believe knowing what you're talking about is more important than talking a lot. However it's nearly impossible to be a "silent leader".
   Ultimately it all comes down to what one wants out of life. To become a leader, famous, or wealthy one is usually required to step out of the shadows of the "rank and file". They have to be willing to talk to a lot of people, have strong opinions, and be willing to be disliked.

   As far as spiritual advancement, the quiet person would attain the highest peaks of realization because the greatest mystics and sages are silent most of the time. In the material world, the person who talks a lot, who is outgoing, understands business and flatters important people could possibly become more successful. The quiet person could succeed too, but they have to get involved with other people sometime.

   Sorry it has taken me a few months to discover this question. (I must have been "talking" to much!! LOL)   
   Seriously Sundeep, I'm reminded of a song...."A Time For Every Purpose."
   There is a time for communication & discussion and there is a time for silence. 
   Each one of us must learn how to balance these throughout our interactions with others.  It's important to focus on the words, actions and emotions of those around us, as well as to look deep within our selves.  The appropriateness of our reaction will become clear to us, if we just "listen"......not only to the chatter...but also to the silence.
   We gain in life what we give.  This is a simple truth that is not argued successfully............Peace, Paula
