About half of them! TV shows too. America seems to have no saturation point for interest in this city - probably for good reason. Off the top of my head:
You've Got Mail
Sex in the City
Goodbye Girl
Kiss Me Goodbye
The Perfect Murder
Serendipity
Something's Got to Give (Worst title for a movie ever!)
The Odd Couple
All The Godfather's movies
Well, the first that comes to mind is: Breakfast at Tiffany's
Just off the top of my head:
The "Men In Black" series (MiB is headquartered in NYC)
The finale in all three versions of "King Kong" end in New York.
Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan
All of the Spider-Man films
Tower Heist
Death Wish
Die Hard With a Vengeance
CBGB
Both Ghostbusters films
C.H.U.D.
...and I just read in the paper yesterday that "Sharknado 2" is currently being filmed in New York City!! Woohoo!
The majority of Woody Allen and Spike Lee movies were shot in New York City.
A BUNCH of movies! lol But the ones that come immediately to mind:
Rosemary's Baby
Escape From New York
The Devil's Advocate
A Bronx Tale
Ghost Busters
Manhattan
Hollywood MAGIC says they cut in some NY skylines (day & night) , traffic and traffic jams look the same no matter where they are shot and paint the cabs, buses and firetrucks the proper colors , scenes of Central Park, NY streets, etc and talk about things and places in NY but shoot the interiors right here in LA. Second units, stock footage and digital cameras make it SEEM like they are there but they aren't. Universal has a back lot with many streets that can look like NY, Chicago , Miami...whatever city you may need even some overseas. Not every film has the budget to travel actors and crew to Budapest or London so the back lot is "dressed" to look like what is needed and camera angles are critical in not breaking the illusion" You'd be shocked to find how many actors never get to go to these places.
That's what it is all about!!!!!
Toronto, Canada has "doubled" for New York City in many films and TV shows as well....
Top of my head
Maid in Manhattan with J. Lo and Volermort (Ralph Fiennes)
Cloverfield
Juice (with Tupac)
Saturday Night Fever
Precious
Taking of Pelham 123 (both movies, original and remake)
Fame?? (not sure on that one)
many, many more movies ........
A great movie made in NYC that wasn't very popular and even had Robin Williams in a dark rather than comic role is "August Rush".

I think they should be tried where the crime occurred. I think we New Yorkers deserve to some kind of justice at long last. We did not get the Towers rebuilt immediately like we should have. The leaders of this City gave Osama Bin Laden his final victory by replacing our Towers with some...
