    Does anyone know of any effective treatments for tinnitus?

    A friend of mine has been suffering from tinnitus and I was wondering if anyone has experienced this and knows of any effective treatments?

    I have tinnitus in my right ear and it can be miserable. No, I have not found much that helps but to keep busy. There are some comprehensive articles on this site that may be helpful.

    Some of the causes of this annoying ailment is a side effect of common pain killers such as ibuprofen, as well as pharmaceutical pain relievers. As well as exposure to loud music, and noises. Wearing ear plugs, while at work or in loud environments, is a way to protect the ears, and prevent the problem. Kind of useless if the damage has already occurred.
    Other causes include ear infection, water, and wax buildup. Might want to consult a doctor to eliminate these causes. Ear wax removal kits are available over the counter.
