Can my medical topic Hubbers shed some light on a recurring skin condition?
For the past 26 years I develop a small patch of itchy bumps on my chin every time the seasons shift. Doctors over the years can only tell me it's an allergy. Or sometimes they dismiss this as 'contact dermatitis". I've googled and all I know now is that I am not alone. Others describe the exact same condition, but on different parts of the body. Chin, Chest, or abdomen. It resembles the rash of poison oak but does not spread. My glands in my neck or under my chin swell and have a fever while the rash is present. No cream 'cures' it, though alcohol or bleach dry it out faster.
I had an allergy like this for years on my leg and no one could diagnose it. On my own I discovered it was due to food allergy issues. Once I got rid of the trigger food (wheat/gluten) the rash went away never to return. Mine had a similar look as you describe but was present year round for 3 years before I finally figured it out for myself.
"Contact dermatitis" is what they label every skin rash they can't figure out. I did not have "contact dermatitis" for 3 years and was left to figure it out for myself.
If yours is truly only seasonal and not always around, it could maybe be due to airborne allergens (mold, pollen, ) but if it keeps recurring it is likely due to something you are continuously exposed to and the seasonal air changes just aggravate it.
I have a different problem when the season shifts a spot appears on my chin or lower part of my face it is not a rash just gets itchy and recurs. You are probably allergic at that time of year with different weather climates sometimes a certain cram you use on your face can cause the problem.
I'm sorry to hear this happens to you! The presence of swollen glands and a fever would indicate some type of infection. When my mom gets sick, she develops a rash under her arm - every time.
Perhaps what you are experiencing is similar. It may be that the rash is a symptom that accompanies the symptoms of fever and swollen glands - all pointing to a virus of some sort. It is not uncommon to develop inflammation of the skin when a virus is present.
If you have not already, when the rash is present - try to see a Dermatologist. Since it's been 26 years, I'm betting you've seen one. It sounds like it's very uncomfortable, but passes.
The body is definitely a complex thing and many times difficult to understand. Hang in there.
Well I can only speak from my own experiences. I was covered in hives on my face for about 4 years. Didn't itch, just was over my cheeks, and nose. Tried about everything. Took claritin, and olive leaf (orally) 2 capsules a day. Not only was the rash finally gone, but never came back. (knock on wood) I too had the same symptoms, I do occasionally have flares. http://www.amazon.com/Foods-Olive-Glyce … B0019LWTWQ
The cause is still unknown, just very grateful for the result.
Really doesn't matter the cause, just the cure.
Now, on to the second part. If your glands are swollen as well. I think its a little bit more than an allergy. One of the main symptoms of numerous conditions are fever, rash, and swollen glands. Fever means infection. A blood test called an ana, may be very revealing. It can be an auto immune reaction as well. An ana test will verify.
By treating the underlying cause, you there by eliminate the symptoms.
Olive leaf is very gentle. It does take time. If it is infection the rash will respond. You can apply it topically, as well as take it internally. It is anti viral, anti fungal, as well as anti bacterial. An all natural supplement. The only side effects are it lowers blood pressure, and blood sugar. If you have low blood pressure, or hypoglycemia, be cautious. Still a Pretty awesome, and proven supplement. http://sherrievitamins.blogspot.com/201 … ssure.html

Are people born with eczema or is it something that can just develop from out of nowhere?

Tinea Versicolor is a misunderstood skin condition. I have lived with this since I was 12-13 years old. Many think it is just a rash, but it is a skin fungus that can last a short time or for decades, depending on the person's skin. There is the misconception that this can be cured by medicine, but...
