What is the identity of the last decade?
Every decade has it's identity. The 60's were about war, hippies, space, and The Beatles, the 70's were all about more war, disco, the 80s were about more war, sex, drugs, rock & roll, cocaine, fun, Michael Jackson, Pop Culture, COMPUTERS. The 90's was all about "Keeping it real" (Gangsta Rap/The Real World/Reality TV 's birth).
Besides 9/11 being used to invade our privacy, what the hell has the early 2000's offered?
My vote is for the "social media decade".
It's all about (connecting) with others! Some people never unplug and many tend to "over share". Just about everyone is on the "selfie craze" including presidents and entertainers.
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Tagged, Flickr, YouTube, Meetup.com, Pinterest, Tumblr, Skype, online dating sites, and dating apps for cell phones. In fact many people now use their cell phone as their primary phone. Smart phones also allow users to remain connected with the Internet and email accounts.
Networking/connecting and staying in touch is what it's about now.
I am with you on this one so far. This would be a great tag to put on 2k. Anyone else have any suggestions?
I reckon social media is one of the worst things, that's ever happened to us..Are people really socially interacting, whilst sat at home watching T.V checking their Lap Tops/Phones etc..Or is socially interacting about actually visiting people?.
