Is there a certain song that brings back strong memories/emotions for you?
What is the song, and why do you relate it to that memory?
There are many. If you are really interested, here's one. I just cannot write it out again, so please excuse the link

Too many, but if I had to pick a favorite, I guess it would be Bohemian Rhapsody.
Snoopy Vs The Red Baron strange as it might seem. I was in kindergarten and was in love with the notion of flight. I was also a Peanuts fan. I also liked the history angle. I could imagine an age of these rather rickety planes and their daring pilots. I also liked the Christmas song in which The Red Baron yelled out: 'Merry Christmas Mine Friend!' rather than my friend. Then there was 'The Man who shot Liberty Valance, he was the bravest of them all.' I had a lot of time for the Royal Guardsmen. I also liked the song for the movie Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines. This was a fun way to grow up. There was also the haunting mechanical sound to the original Doctor Who. For a kid it was dead set spooky but all the better for that.

There are far too many for me to zero in on just one. I grew up during the height of the Motown and Philly sound era.
We had a ton of groups that recorded songs that still sound better than a lot of the "music" being put out today. (The Temptations, Stylistics, Dramatics, O'Jays, Dells, Earth Wind & Fire, The Isley Brothers, Kool & The Gang, The Emotions, Diana Ross & The Supremes, Ohio Players, Blue Magic, Gladys Knight & The Pips, The Spinners, The Chi-lites, The Commodores, Parliament, The Jackson 5, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, Sly & The Family Stone, The Manhattans, Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes.)
We also had loads of solo artists as well, Stevie Wonder, Barry White, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Al Green, Isaac Hayes, Peabo Bryson, Donna Summer, Bill Withers, and Denise Williams to name a few.
At any rate whenever I hear any songs from that era it brings backs all sorts of memories!
I wish those days would come back once more. - Stevie Wonder
Yes, it was a magical time to be young and into the music scene. We also had a ton of dances (funky chicken, the four corners, funky penguin, the robot, the monkey, camel walk, the twist, hitch hike, mashed potato, pop lock, and the hustle.) LOL!
Elton John's Someone Saved My Life Tonight. Every time I hear it, I'm transported back to a 17 year old in 1975.
Oh my, this is one of those questions that really makes one think and reflect. There are truly many. Music, like books, have always been part of my life and brought/bring me comfort during different, and sometimes difficult, life events. I will venture to say that "Amazing Grace" brings extremely strong feeling whenever I hear it. It was my mother's favorite song....I had to come to the understanding of why she loved that song so much.....I cry anytime I hear it....no matter where I am. Another is God on the Mountain".....I just happened to hear this song for the first time when my oldest sister was very ill and we'd been told that she would not make it. It came on the TV while she and I were walking a program that she liked. It actually made her sit up, smile.....she amazed the doctors for she recovered, went home and lived a wonderful life for a few more years.
Definitely, and the song is Cole Porter's 'Love For Sale'.
And I relate to that memory because it reminds me of my days as a 'Lady of the Night', as people of that persuasion were called.
Ah happy days!
'When the only sound in the empty street
Is the heavy tread of the heavy feet
That belongs to a lonesome cop
I open shop
When the moon so long has been gazing down
On the wayward ways of this wayward town
That her smile becomes a smirk,
I go to work.
Love for sale, appetizing young love for sale
Love that's fresh and still unspoiled
Love that's only slightly spoiled
Love for sale
Who will buy?
Who would like to sample my supply?
Who's prepared to pay the price
For a trip to paradise?
Love for sale.
Let the poets pipe of love
In their childish way
I know every type of love
Better far than they.
If you want the trill of love,
I've been through the mill of love,
Old love, new love,
Every love but true love.
Love for sale.'

Hate is a strong word; Can a person truly hate one they once loved? Is hate not pain all it's own?
