My cat coughed up to hair balls yesterday. Is this okay? What is the best remedy for cat balls?
Get a cat food that is for hairballs and one that is for sensitive stomach and that will cure the problem. Yes it is OK for them to do this. Another thing to do is brush them daily to try to keep shedding down to a minimum and prevent hairballs from forming in your kitties stomach. There is a quick method to keeping it down too. All you need to do is put some petroleum jelly (unscented) on their paw and they will lick it off. It does not hurt your cat. It coats their stomach so no hairball can form or it just gets expelled out the other end.
This is helpful, thank you. Can I substitute petroleum jelly?
Good advice here. We've used the oil from cans of mackerel, too.
I wonder if oil from tuna cans or other fish would work too.
Petroleum Jelly coats their stomach. There is a Hairball remedy that you can get in a Pet Food Store. It is in a tube. It is in the grooming section.
Lady hit almost everything I was going to say. If you try all of those and they don't seem to cut back the number of furballs, you can also buy hairball remedy at a pet store. It comes in a tube like toothpaste and is usually some flavor a cat would like. You're cat my like it, but none of my cats ever did.
Thanks for the tip. I would use the tube remedy as a last resort.

If I have a stomach ache and tell people, they all believe me. If I have a spiritual experience and tell people, many don't believe me.If both experiences are internal and observable only to me, why does everyone believe my stomach ache but many don't believe my spiritual experience?
