Alright so there are some states where marijuana and/or prostitution is legal.

What's your best argument that marijuana and/or prostitution should or shouldn't be legal?

Legal or illegal, both happen. Always have and probably always will. Taking place in the shadows prevents regulation, makes it difficult to implement any sort of effort to alter the behavior, and leads to crime.

In the light, however, allows for regulation, assistance to those in need, and reduces associated crime. It is a no-brainer as far as I am concerned.

Legalization doesn't mean condone, it just flips on a light in the shadows.

Not sure why this is posted in Baltic States. Considering your residence, I'm assuming you wanted an American perspective, though I suppose this is general enough to be applicable elsewhere.

I think that prostitution should be legal just because there's nothing anyone an do to stop it no matter what. It's not called the world's oldest profession for nothing. There has always been a demand and it has always been supplied. Weed should be l

Totally agree with junkseller. Marijuana is a really simple one for me, and the fact that it's been illegal all this time while you can purchase tobacco at a corner store just blows my mind.

Legal prostitution would likely allow for some more protective measures regarding the prostitute's safety... which you might not care about directly, but there will always be people in the market for sex and I think it would be a great thing if there were certain standards to lower the risk of spreading diseases.

It's hard to see any justification for criminalizing drug use of any kind. The criminalization of drugs in the US has resulted in a lot of gang violence--just as Prohibition did. If you can't resolve disputes through the legal system, because your activity it illegal, you resolve disputes with a gun. The illegal drug trade has destabilized the Mexican government. Legalize drugs and you get rid of the gangs and cartels.

Prostitution is a somewhat different issue, in that there is a real need for legalization, leading to regulation, since sexual activity winds up being a public health issue.

But if you make all these things legal here in the states all the other things should leave but I do agree with the public health issue but to be honest it is like that now.
