Some cats never adapt to others living in the same house. Sometimes that's due to their personalities and sometimes it's because they've had bad experiences with other cats at some point in their life. I've never had a problem bringing a new cat into a house where there's already a cat, but I've read tips on doing so. The best idea seems to be to set up the new cat in a room by itself with it's own litter box and food/water dish. Don't keep it locked in there. Occasionally shut up the other cats for a short time and let the new cat have a chance to investigate it's new surroundings. It'll get used to smells of the other cats. The older cats, if let roam in the room the new cat uses, they'll get used to the new cat's smell. For short periods of time, allow the cats to interact and gradually increase the time they spend together. As I said, I've never had the problem, but many people say this works.
don't know. My cat invited a male companion but sometimes she would chase him away. Most of the time, she share her meals with him

I have 4 cats (yes I know, crazy cat lady in the making), 3 of which are fit and one who is just a big fatty. I leave them a large feeder, so that they can eat as they please. Why do cats stare at walls? We've had a few cats that do this, for hours sometimes- just sit there staring or following something along the wall(s) with their line of sight we can't see at all. Does anyone have an idea why a cat does this or what, possibly, their eyes detect that a pair of human...

How sad! My friend had a couple of black cats along with her others. One of them did exercises with me while I was pregnant, we have a picture of it, quite funny. Black cats are silky and smooth. I like smooth, silky, black hair on people too!

Do Cats or Dogs make better pets?My cat is so cute sometimes - and smart. And he knows how to be nice when he needs something... But he is not selfish - he lets me mess with him sometimes when I'm in a bad mood.

I moved from Pennsylvania to Oklahoma a few months ago. I've been planning on bringing my cat out here. A short time ago, my mom told me that it might not be a good idea to bring him out here because he is 11 years old, there are 3 other cats back in PA to keep him company, and because...
