Why is the Edtors Choice nomination form right above Hub of the Day?

Is it just me, or is it strange that the nomination form for the EC award is right above the HOD? Is it a mistake? Is it actually an HOD nomination form or is it just placed in a poor spot?

I wondered that myself Kathleen. It is oddly positioned. It makes people think they are voting for Hub of the Day, when that's not the case. No wonder people get the two mixed up.

Just as with most of the various results of actions of Team Hubpages....very few of us know or understand the reasons behind them.
And unless we ASK, it is rarely explained.  (often our questions go unanswered entirely).  Such is the way it goes here.

Thus.....I don't know for certain how to answer your question, but because I've learned how to guess and/or simply assume why.....to save myself the aggravation......I'd have to say....

Editor's Choice and HOTD are in the same Information Category, so to speak.   They both apply to Hubs that are given specific recognition.   Even if we don't realize they are 2 different recognitions, we discover this quickly and easily enough by clicking on the voting form.

Rest assured It's highly unlikely that our TEAM leaders would make the mistake of not knowing what they're doing and confuse HOTD with Editor's Choice.

TEAM probably feels this is a "convenient spot" for hubbers to see, as opposed to a "poor spot."   Personally, I pay little attention to any of it.

You are young, enthusiastic and on top of things, which is why you notice every little thing.  Bless your heart.........thanks for being vigilant on behalf of the laid back elders around here!!!

Oh dear..I was raised by the OCD Queen. Thus, I am the opposite, which MAY be worse, I don't know. OCD is a terrible curse!  I feel for you. It's not such a thrill for those in your life either.  Wishing you freedom from OCD!

It is probably there to remind Hubbers to nominate Hubs for their favorite EC's. Would you rather it was below the Hub of the Day? Then it may not be noticed much.

Another possibility is that it may have been there first and Hub of the Day came second.
