   Prayer is an internal communication with God. It need not be vocal at all; it need not be formal (=kneeling) at all. It could be just like a conversation with a trusted and loving friend/ partner. After all, is n't God the closest among our friends and well wishers?

      Thanks for the answer  but I  was expecting  that you could throw in one or two Bible verses to support you opinion.

   For me, prayer is something between me and my God.  I believe that my God knows my every thought and intention, so I do not worry about the "form" that prayer takes.  All depend what I feel at the time.  It could be a quiet time where I mentally talk to God, or maybe it is a fleeting thought whilst I run around and do my work.  So long as it is honest, and respectful then it does not need to be in any specific form.
   I find that a little prayer sets the right tone for my day.

      Thanks for your response. In the Bible, someone prayed with his hands raised up and in such a position, his army got an upper hand over the enermy. When he got tied and lowered his hands, the enermy  would overpower him. Quote the Bible.

      Gresham, you did not ask what the Bible says about this. The way you put the question it is fair to understand that you are asking for my opinion on it.
      I did not study the Bible.  I go with what I feel.

      Fair enough. I would be good to base our answers based on the Bible so that we are kind of guided to the truth not by our personal opinions.

   i pray by lying on my bed, i pray the rosary which takes 30min and in my heart. Never murmur or stay anything aloud.

   The best way to prayer is to decide first in which form you see God..friend, son, parent, adviser. protector, creator, healer etc.
   
   Then calm yourself with minimum physical activity, preferably no external sounds to disturb you, quiet your mind, take a few deep breaths and CONNECT with Him in the form you like.
   
   Now communicate with him, ask....request....command.... take your time, it is simplest form of prayer.
   
   One tip for better connectivity: keep your spine straight.
   
   (Simple methods are not bound by any religion, but produce results.)
