What makes some people quite fearful of thinking analytically & using complex logic, instead opting
to use illogical, even ridiculous reasoning to present their argument?
Regarding "ridiculous reasoning to present an argument," I want to remind you that "God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty" (1 Cor. 1:27). By what authority can a person judge the reasonableness of another person's argument? "Fear of the LORD is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline" (Prov. 1:7). What matters is WINNING, and I don't mean winning arguments.
Judging, sentencing and claiming supernatural authority over others! If this person accidentally comes across a real fact, what will she do?
I sure hope someone comes up with a good answer for this one! I've been trying to figure it out for decades.
When I hear an otherwise normal appearing human try to tell me that we can't use 'solar power' because we would use up all of the sun's energy, I just have to wonder what planet the person is from?
When I hear people say that homosexuality is causing tornadoes, AIDS, herpes and rotten tomatoes at the grocery store, I just want to scream!
When I hear people say that government should be based on the Christian bible (or any other holy book elsewhere), I just want to shove some Inquisition torture devices up their (where the sun doesn't shine).
When I hear the endless arguments of Creationism versus Evolution, I want to vomit.
Why CAN'T people see the noses on their own faces? What is it about people that makes them scared to face the truth, logic and facts???

Honestly, on one hand, I do enjoy the relatively FREE PRESS position of HubPages. Over my 9 years here, I feel I can state that HP is a pretty good place for all of us Hubbers to post our opinions on a wide variety of subjects. But, one thing I have learned is that often, sometimes too often, I see...

What makes a good person?Humanity has a tendency to create heroes in the real world we often turn complex men into two dimensional paragons of virtue. But what really makes a good person? and is anyone just good or just bad or are we all a complex combination?
