What do you think separates extraordinary people from mediocre people?
I did a hub on this quite a while ago. Extraordinary people believe in their own greatness. They furthermore believe that they deserve success . They maintain that so-called detours such as obstacles & other difficulties will only fuel their success. They refuse to view failures & mishaps as an end all but view such things as building blocks & lessons to be learned.
Extraordinary people see life as an unending adventures. They are willing to grow & evolve, seeing such things as necessary in their psychological, mental, even spiritual development. They believe in THRIVING instead of merely SURVIVING. They view work as play & as a way to actualize their potential & to make a positive mark in society. They are also QUITE passionate about their work if one can call it that
Mediocre people, on the other hand, view life as one grey monotony. They see life as an unending trial, even a sentence from which the release is death. They are the living dread, merely surviving instead of really living their lives to their fullest potential. They see every obstacle & difficulty as an albatross. They maintain that it takes luck & fortune to succeed & they are not such.
Mediocre people are passive receptacles as far as life goes instead of active players. Their motto is that one deals with what life hands them. They do not believe themselves to be worthy of greatness for that would be considered to be conceit & arrogance. They maintain that they are merely average, even insignificant. They believe in just settling, not ever believing that they deserve the best. They do not see life as a joy but a neverending series of rules & obligations which one must adhere. They view work as a tolerable drudgery just to pay the bills.
In summation, extraordinary people view life as exciting & as their canvass to make it happen. They maintain that life is a gift & feel that it is their duty to make life a glorious blossoming. They are the ones of the belief that THEIR life choices & success is their responsibility. They see the futility in excuses & rationalizations, they ACT. Mediocre people view life as a monotonous purgatory. They believe that LIFE HAPPENS TO THEM. They settle as they feel that great things do not happen to people like them but to those more fortunate. They love to make excuses & rationalizations to why their life does not work, not realizing that their lives is what THEY made it.
I contest that the only thing that separates ordinary or mediocre people from extraordinary is a wee bit of "extra" stuff.
