   How do you deal with viciously jealous people?
   
   Today, I read some stories of people who won the lottery, and had friends and family turn on them, to the point of trying to get them killed! According to my personal experience, it doesn't take winning a fortune to attract those sorts. I've known of cases where someone got a job, and others kept close tabs on how much they earned, then demanded money from them based on that. I've heard of cases where such people have even been robbed of their chump change.
   Obviously, the best way to deal with people like that is to avoid them. But what do you do when you can't?

   My ex-husband was extremely jealous and possessive. That's why he is my EX!
   I could never understand why some people are so insecure, that they have to be jealous. There are methods of dealing with them, but I gave up and said, hasta la vista to that crap.

      It's great you could leave - but what if they're your parents? I'm giving a speech on money management to 9th graders soon; I'll tell them not to discuss how much money they make or save, to avoid haters and sabotagers.

      You can leave your parents. Maybe not when you are really young, in which case you will turn out to be an abused child, but as soon as possible, just leave. I left home at the age of 12. It can be done.

      I read your story; it is harrowing. I'll be telling the students they need $5000 to move out on their own. They can save it by working 12 hours a week minimum wage for 1 year. What if their parents sabotage that, and they become homeless as a result?

      There are agencies that exist to help children, battered people, the homeless. I would find the help ineeded instead of remaining a victim.

      It can get heavy. Skipping gruesome details, I'm having flashbacks of my own regarding this issue. The high school where I'm giving the presentation offers Junior Achievement. I'd never heard of that as a teen. Perhaps they can help the kids hide $?

      Hiding money is a big problem for anyone. I had a very secret place where I hid mine and it was not kept at my house. I would find a place at school or at the library.
