No two marriages are alike. Only you know what you want in a mate.
Each of us chooses our own friends, lovers, and spouse.
In my opinion there are 3 top causes of divorce.
    1. Choosing the wrong mate for oneself.
    2. Getting married for the wrong reasons
    3. Stopped being the person who won your mate's heart.
The goal is to find someone who shares your same values, wants the same things for the marriage that you do, naturally agrees with you on how to obtain those things, and last but not least there is a mutual depth of love and desire for one another.
Like attracts like and opposites attract divorce attorneys.
It takes time to truly learn if someone has the traits you're looking for. However the main factor is you have to know yourself before you can choose a mate for yourself. Never marry anyone (expecting) them to change them. People only change when (they) are unhappy.
Very few people are walking around with one hand raised in the air and screaming: "I'm looking for someone to change me!"
The majority of people want to be loved and appreciated for who they are. Avoid taking on people and relationships as "projects".
There are only two ways to experience joy and peace of mind in relationships: We either get what we want or we learn to be happy with what we have. Accept them as is or move on.
The choice is up to you!
"Don't marry the person you think you can live with; marry only the individual you think you can't live without." ~James C. Dobson

Exactly what dashingscorpio said.  No relationship is ever the same, and what you've both put on the table now will help determine where you go from here.  Simple example: eventually you will have to talk to your partner about some very serious topics (e.g. finances is a big one).  If you've been avoiding certain discussions for fear of how they might go, yo're in for a surprise when they eventually surface.

I don't care how long the 'honeymoon' phase lasts.  Married life can be challenging for anyone.  But it can also be very rewarding.  How the two of you get along as a couple will play a major role in how happy you are as a married pair.  I wish you both all the best.
