Christianity And Islam: Which Had Proved To Be A Real Force For Peace?
Off course am a Christian. And I no Christianity Claim to practice Peace the same does Islam claim to be a religion of peace, so which among the two religion had really united humans?
hello,
It is hard to give an accurate answer to your question. One reason; it depends which group you point the question to. Each group will defend the group they belong to. Even Individuals within the groups will have a different perspective because of the way they were bought up, life experiences and up bringing. For example, Some Christians parents convince their kids to hate the Jews because they killed Jesus. Sometimes this hatred grows as the child grows. On the other hand, some Muslim parents will convince their children to hate the Christians and so on!!!
With an open mind, one can give a possible answer. None and both. How? because both minorities through out history created wars and killed for the sack of conquer (NOT RELIGION). Those minorities may call themselves Christians or Muslims but for sure they are not.
Moreover if you really concerned with the answer, read the bible read the quran and check what each verses say about wars, killing women/children, freedom etc... here you can really compare and relate..
Good luck !!!
Thanks Soraya You are right, despite that the two religion claim to practice peace, it is hard to say they have been force for peace, because. I love your answer, only if the two could really think deeply of their history.
if you look at the world right now, you an see that islam country, they are not having peace, trying to conquer the world to convert to islam, quite absurb
Thanks Peachy ,Yes that is what is happening today, but I think it is the Christian who had set the stage for the war we see today. Aren't the two world wars fought in by Christian's countries?
Neither.
God made man and man made religion.
Whenever man conceives of anything it contains built in bias and inequality towards various groups of people. The ego says my way is the right way. There are other religions besides Christianity And Islam. Even within Christianity there a various different denominations and non-denominations who disagree.
Religion is politics.
Than you Dashingscorpio, Many see it that way too.
Throughout history religion has been the cause of the most deaths in history. They are both to blame and I do not see anything changing in the near future.
Kevin. To me things have already changed in Christianty.
Any religion is the road to God. Any leader of any religion has a choice. God says - create a Paradise and be happy. The devil says - kill a person of another faith. While Christians reject Paradise on Earth they are against God. While Islamic State rejects Paradise on Earth it is against God. We can stop the wars. We can create Paradise on Earth - I know the formula of Paradise! And I say - reject religion if this religion rejects Paradise and happiness !!!

Whenever an Islamic terrorist event occurs, our Western politicos rally around to reasure us that Islam is a peaceful religion. Is this accurate?I'm sure any Al Quaeda member will be able to justify their actions by quoting a few passages of the quran. If as Westerners we were to read the same...

if islam is about peace then why do they try to kill a guy over a cartoon?to me peace isn't justified when you launch a holy war or you state that someone should be killed over a book or a picture.

If religion is about peace why are some of the worst wars caused by religion?Look at the Romans waging war against the Jewish stronghold at Masada. Hunting and killing because of religion not land, they had already fled their homes and lands. Through the years so much hate. The pagans of Ireland...

Very rarely do I see a forum thread on Islam. I have not seen an atheist who has started a thread on Islam insulting Mohammed or Allah or just speaking out against them. Christianity and Jesus seem to be the target. I know it is because the US, for example, is considered a...

"You know, I don't know about this doctrine of assassination, but if he thinks we're trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it. It's a whole lot cheaper than starting a war ... We have the ability to take him out, and I think the time has come that we...
