What is the difference between Faith and Religion ?
Everywhere we hear about the talk of religion. But I never thought that religion really exists, exept one and that is love. Yet even the well educated social beings, like it better to talk about Churches, Temples & Mosques. Is it that we can find our solutions in these places only, or we can live by our faith ?
For me 'faith' is believing on existence of an external power that directs the orchestra called universe. Meanwhile 'religion' is created by human who identifies the power with a name.
You are right .. Faith only requires love, while religion demands separation and love within each 'grouping'
Religion has gone through many 'versions' and 'rebranding' claiming the latest to be better ...
But like 'windows' or any operating system .. The basic language or binary is the platform .. And in human the platform is love and dharma ..
Thanks Hazel, That's a great addition. Separation & Love. And like you said Binary starts with one. To spread it requires either "0" for emptiness and "1" for expansion. Yet Love has to come back into the true Path of Light.
Faith is a belief usually followed by actions to support your faith,Religion can be anything that you put ahead of God himself
Many do not realize that your country could be your religion in God's eyes because you are willing to die for is number 1
Faith is trust in God. It is personal. In the Gospels Jesus never talks about believing something will happen, a miracle perhaps, but always about believing Him. Our destiny rests on faith. We are saved by faith. “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life.” John 3:36.
Religion is a word containing allegiance in manner of life to a higher power, unseen power or powers, traditionally by a man crated ' god' or 'gods' not necessarily ' 'supernatural'; it can be "my"- a person's decision to follow rules of a club membership or imposed choice of ethic, habbits or customs ( my religion is good cooking and healthy living, subject to change.)
Yes Michael, I agree with you. "The Just shall live by Faith". And the concept of a club is great. Now we all know that, as well wishers, we have to try our best to break the walls of Hatred in any association. Spread on the message of Love.
The difference between the Religion and Faith is within. If religion is sky then faith is a huge planet in it. Actually religion means a guide that helps you in the ups and downs of your life. It is but a Divine Guidance. Faith is a firm belief in the religion and it's teachings. Therefore you can perceive both by the above example. Or you can say it with the example of glass and water, without water the glass is empty, where as without glass the water has less significance, so religion and faith should go hand in hand. Since there seems to be a dearth of religious role in individual and collective lives so some says there is no need of religion. Yes of course if a religion doesn't mould the human lives to better then absolutely there is no need of it.
I agree Javed. There is a dearth of religious role in our Social life. I put it this way. Love within individuals is true Religion. The Holy books are to lead us to the path of Love. But my show of knowledge may pull your morale down. Right.
Agreed. You have put it across beautifully. Now one thing left for our contemplation, if the Book is for love & humanity where actually its observable?
K Johnny thank you for reading my hub on the subject of how Jehovah talks to us today, I tried to reply back but my comment will not post sorry for the delay thank you .
"Religion" is "Works" whereas "Faith" is "Believing" in the unseen and enjoying His "Grace and Mercy!"

Explain the difference between Miracles and Magic? If you were to drop from another planet to find a magician crutching razors into needles and Jesus feeding 5000 with five loaves of bread and two fish, whom would you think has more powers, and why?

Just curious to get people's reactions, opinions, insight, knowledge or wisdom, so as to see if a barrier I see actually exists. The barrier? Is the ignorance(lack of knowledge) behind making them the same thing, when clearly they are not.Anyone want to take a shot at it?Knowing&BelievingThe...

Is there a difference between true faith and blind faith?I think true faith comes from prayer and reflection and meditation, while blind faith is believing in an individual rather than in the Word...eg: The May 21, end of the world forecast.
