Religion, when not warped by a third party, can be very uplifting and inspiring. It is the nature of religious texts to be worded in such a way that they can be read differently depending on background or mood of the person reading them.

That flexible nature to the texts can often help people see a new way of looking at their life, a different path to their goals, or even just a way to come to terms with a problem or loss that is keeping them from advancing.

However, that same flexibility is easily shaped by anger, rage, fear, and hatred. Something to be careful you don't allow to happen since it will cause more problems than it solves.

Hi Char, you are right about the flexibility of the religious texts. I would  like to know any excerpt from any scripture that you know of which can help me find answer for my question.

Not knowing you, your situation, or your understanding of any single religion, much less all of them, I can offer you no answer. All I can offer is to pick up a text and just start reading. Something will speak to you if you are open to it.

I feel I qualify for being included in the 'lost man' category, and therefore---My opinion about religion helping find  my purpose, could qualify me to give my opinion on the question,
I have, for the past several weeks, had a elevated interest in the question, but for some reason---My questions and searches have not been centered around religion. I believe the reason I am not drawn to a religious type of roadmap, is primarily because of the many (religious zealot vs. atheist vs. agnostic vs. 'Simply the Truth') type of posts on this site have put me off almost exclusively from---the religious arguments of those posts.
I have been become more and more drawn to a type of truth (to me) that rings true with me. If I really, really put my life in the perspective of what I mean in the totality of my reality---I AM and that's it!!!

Hi Aliswell, I appreciate your crisp answer. I want you advice on something. Is it safe to assume that we all exist in this world without any one single specific purpose?

Safe indeed Garav! I am believing more and more everyday that we Simply Exist.

Interesting!! Can you tell me a little more about how you discovered this fascinating axiom of life that we 'Simply exist.'
