   Why do so many who profess to be Christian believe the lie that lucifer is satan?.
   
   Isaiah 14:12 is the only mention of lucifer in the bible.  In Isaiah 14:4 the prelude to vs 12 clearly states that lucifer is the king of babylon.    So why do the masses believe the lie taught by apostate men?

   Lucifer was Satan's name before he was cast from heaven.  When it is written that Lucifer is the king of Babylon, it does not mean literally.  It means that the civilization is so corrupt that Satan may as well be running it himself.  They have turned away from God and follow Satan whether they know it or not.

      where in the world did you get that?   certainly not from scripture.    NO. IT DOES MEAN the  KING OF BABYLON, NEBUCHADNEZZER BY NAME.
      Also satan has not been cast out of heaven yet, that happens in the end,
      you have surely drunk the koolaid .

   So, in bible's view, the antichrist is anybody or anything that contradict Christ, not subject to Christ and teaching, not from Christ, which the bible accused of being evil, demonic and lies. So, if I say "The earth is over 5000 years old" that make me an anti-christ, your high school teacher and university professors, are antichrist because they are teachers not from Christ. Prior to the age of enlightenment, the only education institution, in the west are those which are of the church and its teaching are subject to the teaching of the bible, making those schools a big waste of time. When the Age of Enlightenment pushes for the legalization of independent education institution from the church, it was been accused of blasphemy and evil. In fact, the Age of Enlightenment itself is an antichrist, because it push for many things that contradict the church, in its pursuing of knowledge and new ideas.
   In fact when Christianity, took power in the 5th century, many educated in Europe was been executed by the church, for contradicting the bible and many knowledge was lost, due to contradicting the bible, because these all qualify as antichrist, the rise of Christianity, thus play a large part of in the rise of dark ages. Ironically speaking, considering the fact the rise of the rule of Christ and fall of antichrist, lead to the dark ages and the fall of the rule of Christ and rise of antichrist, leads to the Age of Enlightenment, it mean the antichrist is the real Lord and Savior and Christ is the bad guy. The scary thing is that, the rise of Christ rule over antichrist in the 5th century (which led to the dark ages), till the end of Christ rule and return of antichrist 1200 years later (due to age of Enlightenment) is foretold in the bible, Revelation 20:2-5 [And he seized that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, and threw him into the pit, and sealed it over him, so that he might not deceive the nations any longer until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released] I think we are truly bless, to live in a post christ era and be able to live in an antichrist era.

      Pete:  Either one is a "Believer" or not!  IF one believes GOD created ALL, then there's no question re: "man-made" DATES!!!
      Please furnish a book written BEFORE Bible, with as many "accurate fulfilled prophecies," as Bible!

      Interesting take Peter. I tend to think of the anti-Christ as being those who usurped Christianity for power in the flesh. You say Christianity did all the terrible but we both know that it was people who used it for their own ends rather than follow

      Eric, from a historical view, that is a valid theory, many many bible teaching, can help the church to secure its power, eg bible teaching of antichrist, justify church killing their opponent, in god's name. From religion view its Christ=evil

   Charlie, you know we're not dealing with a "name," but a "demonic spirit!" 
   
   As Christ, is "CALLED" Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit, "...The Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6), etc. which are ALL "GLORIES," there is ONLY "ONE SPIRIT" (I Corinthians Chapter 12; (v12) "...and so is Christ."),
   
   Satan (who is also a spirit) manifests himself advantageous to "evil" (himself) to "kill, steal & destroy" us (John 10:10)! 
   
   Consequently, Satan is a spirit with many manifestations (because he is a spirit also) and is "CALLED" many names! 
   
   However, if one "WAITED" (Acts 1:4) for HELP from the Holy Spirit (JESUS; John 14:26; 16:13), one would be able to discern the "Wiles of the Devil" (Ephesians 6:11) and could "try the spirits" to see whether they are of God" (I John 4:1)! 
   
   Ephesians 6:10-18 tells us to BE PREPARED to FIGHT this "spiritual warfare" by "putting on the whole armor of God" (Ephesians 6:11)!   
   
   Therefore, the "demonic spirit" ("one spirit") of Satan is "CALLED" many different  names, but are ALL Satanic! 
   
   The "ONE SPIRIT" of GOD (I Corinthians Chapter 12) is "CALLED" many different "NAMES" (GLORIES), but are ALL "JESUS" (Philippians 2:10)!
   
   Philippians 2:6-10 says "Who, being in the FORM OF GOD, thought it not robbery to be EQUAL with GOD: (v7) But made himself of "no reputation," and took upon him the form of a servant, and was MADE IN THE LIKENESS OF MEN: (I Timothy 3:16), (v8) And being found in the FASHION AS A MAN, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. (v9) Wherefore GOD (THE SAME "ONE" SPIRIT; I Corinthians Chapter 12 who was never in the flesh as Christ and was "CALLED" the Son of God so "mere-men could "relate"), also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name WHICH IS ABOVE EVERY NAME: (v10) That at the name of "JESUS" (Not at the name of Father, Son or Holy Spirit (TITLES/GLORIES not "NAMES"); which are ALL "JESUS;" or "ONE SPIRIT;" I Corinthians Chapter 12; Ephesians 4:4-6; I Timothy 3:16) EVERY KNEE should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under earth!"
   
   JESUS is GOD ("ONE SPIRIT;" I Corinthians 12; Ephesians 4:4-6; I Timothy 3:16)!!!
   
   Loli is right!  The "demonic spirit" of Satan (Lucifer) overtook NEBUCHADNEZZER and therefore operated as King of Babylon!
