   In my personal faith I need to keep a close meditative and prayer and study contact with my Lord. I have at times lost that spiritual connection and become distant from my Lord. This is a great loss. My Lord is always there for me, but sometimes I lose track and focus. And that never ends well for me. It causes me a loss of love.

      I hope you are not hard on yourself when you lose faith. There are enough people or things that want to take from oneself. I'm in flounder mode. My whole value system has been turned upside down. So I feel I am in the twilight zone.

      Fear not guys!
      It's not a "Spiritual" loss, you are experiencing, but a "Spiritual GROWTH!"
      "IF" you "STUDY" the WORD w/a "pure heart," you WILL "DIE DAILY" (I Cor 15:31)! 
      It hurts the "ego" (flesh) but increases the "Spirit" (GOD) in you!

   This was many years ago. I was no longer young and had lost the naivete of youth--or thought I had. We were approaching a gubernatorial election in Virginia and I was a member of the Democratic Party in the city I was living in at the time. There was going to be a big push to get people to register to vote. This required a couple of things, manpower and literature. We had the manpower so the only thing left was getting the literature printed and out to the workers to be distributed. Being the Democratic Party all printed materials were supposed to have a union mark (called a union bug) on them. Well, that was kind of in conflict with Virginia because Virginia was a Right-to-Work state and most of the print shops were not union. However, across the river in Maryland all the print shops were union. An argument arose about sending materials out of state to be printed when it was a state election and the people who owned the print shops in Virginia were the voters who would be effected by the election. This went back and forth but I eventually lost the argument because of the "party platform". I was angry but decided I would have to live with it. Then a neighbor knocked on my door with a flyer that had just been delivered to him (he was a Republican). When I looked at it I was so stunned I couldn't find anything to say. Apparently a group of Democrats AND Republicans had gotten together to urge people not to vote because there was really no difference between the candidates so it didn't matter who won. I brought the flyer to the next meeting and requested a spot on the agenda. When I was called I presented the flyer with the list of names of the committee members who had signed it. I requested that the least the committee do was to censure the members who had encouraged people not to support our candidate. No one would second the motion, not because it wasn't the right thing to do but because of whose names were on the list. I resigned from the committee, left the party, left politics, and believe every mean, ugly thing that anyone has to say about politicians and party politics since then. There is no such thing as an honest politician or a good political party!

   "GOD is a SPIRIT" (John 4:23-24)!  Do you really think there is "lost" in GOD?  No!  You're only experiencing a "lost" of your (man's/flesh's) "philosophy, idea, or set of values!"
   
   You're beginning to "GROW" in Christ!  I Corinthians 15:31 says "I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, "I DIE DAILY!"  It's not that we die physically, we come into TRUTH in HIS WORD by "researching" ("STUDYING" II Timothy 2:15), or "searching" HIS WORD to "see if (WORD presented to you) those things (WORD) are so" (Acts 17:11)! 
   
   Once Scripture is "researched," and It differs from what one has been "taught," it "cuts" (Hebrews 4:12) or "hurts" (Isaiah 28:13) when It "breaks" one's (flesh) ideas, philosophies, and values" they've acquired over the years! 
   
   This is the BEGINNING of doing what GOD requires of us!  II Chronicles 7:14 says "If my people, which are called by my name, shall HUMBLE themselves, and PRAY, and SEEK MY FACE ("STUDY"), and TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS; "then" will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 
   
   GOD HATES PRIDE!  James 4:5-6 says "Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?  But he giveth more grace.  Wherefore he saith, GOD resiseth the proud, but GIVETH GRACE unto the "HUMBLE!"
   
   Therefore, in order to receive the GRACE of GOD, one has to HUMBLE himself and let go of what we have been "taught" rather "Study" and "Believe" what is in HIS WORD! 
   
   HE has given us GRACE ("Good News") under the New Covenant in the "Gospel of Christ" in which we can be "SAVED!"  Ephesians 2:8-9 says "For by GRACE are ye SAVED through FAITH; and that NOT of yourselves: IT IS THE "GIFT" of GOD: Not of WORKS, lest any man should BOAST!"
   
   Isaiah 28:13 says "But the WORD of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there are little; that they might GO, and FALL BACKWARD ("WAIT;" Acts 1:4), and be BROKEN, and SNARED, and TAKEN." 
   
   It "hurts" when one (flesh) "falls backward, be broken, snared and taken!"  It means giving up "our ideas" of the "philosophy, idea, and values" we've "created" and/or been "taught!"  That's why GOD asked us to "Trust in the LORD (WORD) with ALL thine heart; and lean not to "thine own" understanding" (Proverbs 3:5)!
   
   Three Keys, you're NOT "in the twilight zone," but exactly where the LORD wants you!  Continue "STUDYING," "PRAYING, asking for "REVELATION" of TRUTH in HIS WORD!
